Should be pretty close...numbers are about the same. Aftermarket is better for Stang, but we smoke 'em in the looks department!

Wasn't even a choice for me, RL hands-down

fyi...not that you were actually doing this, but street racing talk is not condoned here.

I too looked at the MUSTANG, when I was shopping, until I saw the SKY. If you want a convertible that will turn heads and corner with a VERY low center of gravity, you get the SKY. If you want an off the line V8 that has one of the best growls for the dollar you get the Mustang. I know you wish you had the Big V8 in the SKY.

Here is what I suggest:

Get a Mallett V8 conversion:

Mallett Cars V8 Sky Conversion

It will cost about $50K when you are done, but for $15-20K more, you get to have not only both, but one of only 100 cars that will eventually be produced.

And PS, it really comes down to the Driver on the GT vs Redline question ..... I can vouch for that personally. (Track only of course)

Stang has more HP... Sky is lighter..

According to simple math.. of HP to Weight ratio.... I believe the sky is actually faster?!?! Can't locate the site at this moment that has the info.

BIGGER FACTOR... There are MILLIONS of stangs out there. So yes, the aftermarket is stronger. But for the most part on the road they blend in as just another car.

The sky does not blend. It draws attention. Everyones.

So even if the stang is a fraction faster... factor in the sky eyeballs it draws.... or as I call it "SkyBalls" (ok I really dont call it that.. but it just hit me and I momentarilly thought it was clever)

Mustang's are so common they hardly draw attention. The SKY however is a proven eyecatcher I mean really SKY's rock

i agree, the sky is the better car, just test drive it once, ask to spend 24 hours with it, and you will fall in love with its beauty and charm.

For way less than $50k I've been having RPI do some really evil things to my car(Redline) that will make it a bit faster and more autocross track worthy than a Mallet conversion. Although I'm sure the Mallet sounds great. Can't deny that V8 growl.

I have posted some pics before. In case you didn't see them, here they are.
I haven't made a video yet, but there are some on Yu Tube made by other Mallett owners. Do a search for "Catch me if you can"

Both are rated 0-60 in 5.5.

Consider the SKY is also built for cornering. So you gotta ask yourself: Do your want the well-known muscle look with some rumble, or a less known ninja look with some twisties?

Nice!! I wonder why they decided to have the 2 exhaust pipes from up front come back to 1 then out to a muffler. If you did 2 straight pipes with resonators, would it be too loud? Really nice work Mallett does. Ahhhhh, nothing like a V8 in a small package. Now for twin turbo's, so you can kill the vipers out there!!

If they would fit, I would liked to have side pipes like they used on some of the sixties Vettes.

If I could have bought a new Mustang conv Shelby with lots of goodies, I would probably be driving it right now. The local dealer wanted me to bend over and I will not pay $20K over MSRP for a Mustang. So I drive the Duckmobile and am quite happy.

I can tell you I will be adding a new Camaro with the LS2 engine in it in 2 years. Which is the main reason I am not spending a fortune modding the engine. Sky will be for Cruisin and the Camaro for tinkering under the hood. The nice part is there are already sooooo many aftermarket parts for that engine that they are not too pricey.

Ran up against a GT/CS Friday afternoon. The stang got the jump at the light cuz I was nappin. My modified RL was gaining on the stang when he gave up. The stang owner looked really surprised. Both r nice cars.
