Replacing Rear Diff and Top

I took my car in at the beginning of the week for a noise when the car was cold. It went away after a few miles. It sounded terrible. Also my top had a curl in it above the driver’s door that I had to manually tuck in when I put the top back up. Service says the rear differential needs to be replaced as well as the top which has an internal tear in it. They are looking at getting the parts in by Wednesday and then installing everything at that time. I will hopefully have it by the end of next week. I have a loaner and the weather hasn’t been top down weather anyway so no big deal. Just hope they get everything and get it done in a timely manner. I have 10k miles on it at this point.

Jayman, Make sure they do the whole package. It is seal ,Yoke assembly ,and nut. That is what is being replaced on the recall. It is a Kit, not just the seal....Skip....

It's fixed

After 2 weeks in the shop, they have my car all fixed up. The rear differential was replaced, the top was replaced and the catalytic converter was replaced. Since not having the car for 2 weeks I may be wrong but it seems to be a new car. It has more power and drives much better. I don’t know if the rear end has any affect on drivability or not or if it was the catalytic converter. Whatever I am very happy.

I did have a loaner for the whole time period.

Probably was the catalytic converter .
You would be amazed at how much it being messed up affects the drivability.

Glad to hear your repairs went well. I couldn't sleep at night if my car was in the service department for two weeks. Hope I get a loaner car for the February recall.
