Very cool thank you! That will be a great help. The shop manuals are on the list of things to buy, but I have a few other things on the list a head of them.

Welcome, and thanks for all the help.
My question is about OnStar really...my right thumb has activated the OnStar Emergency, after muting the radio (which I had not noticed, at the time), on several occassions. Can the OnStar Emergency be deactivated from the steering wheel button, but kept active on the rearview mirror?

I have a question for you, if you don't mind could you look up the new '09s bluetooth radio and see how much it would cost? I am thinking about retrofitting one into my 08.

The only way to deactivate it from the wheel would be to unplug the switch (via the connector) which is behind the airbag and attached to the clock spring. As I have never done this, I would suspect it would not interfere with the mirror operation or set any codes, but I make no promises. Be advised...this will more then likely deactivate ALL of the audio controls on the wheel (I don't think the connectors are seperated).

We don't have the 09's components in the parts system yet (for the most part). In fact, we don't even have access to some of the late 08 Sky parts yet. Seat covers in the Carbon Flash, for example, are not able to be replaced at this time without ordering the entire seat frame assembly...and you could see how this could be a pain in the @ss for some warranty claims. When the parts DO become available, users here will be the first to know.

Thanks for the info. Guess I will be talking with Jennifer (at OnStar Emergency) again in the near future!

I got the impression, somewhere along the way, that bluetooth was part of the latest version of OnStar, rather than the stereo.(?)

That may well be the case with the 09's. Sice we haven't gotten any on our lot yet, I can't say for sure. I have retrofitted some 08 Vues with the Bluetooth kit but not a Sky....yet.

In order to remove the holder you have to pop off the gear shift bezel (boot for a manual, gear indicator for an automatic) and reach inside the trim plate. You can then "pop" the cupholder out onto the passenger floorboard. Use silicone paste or something similar to lube the slide inside the cup holder. Unfortunatly, this is an ongoing problem with the cupholder due to the design. I've replaced mine 3 times so far and I don't put anything bigger then a Pepsi can in it.

I will be real curious to see how much the bluetooth retrofit costs.

Not a huge need, but I am a gadget geek, so that would be cool

Hey Elff, it's been a while. My dealer doesn't "offer" an upgrade kit for the Sky. We recommend people to aftermarket shops if they want one installed. Check with your dealer about this, some will offer a kit while others will not.

I am assuming currently that the Bluetooth uses the Onstar Mic but that's it. The bluetooth will be a function of the stereo system. I think I'm going to go up to my dealer and ask them when they're getting 09's to see if I can take a looksie and I'll report back to you guys. Most likely if it's part of the stereo and uses the onstar mic, then nothing will have to be changed other than the headunit.

We won't be getting out 09's until late next month or early September. It'll be interesting to see where they put the system in the Sky. What I'd really like to see is an upgraded Stereo with the feature built in. GM could also take the time to make the radio display brighter for top down driving.

Honestly I am 99% sure it'll be a function of the stereo. The OnStar module may be necessary for the microphone, but the bluetooth hardware itself is always built into the headunit.

That'd be nice. We'll have to wait and see.

On the lighter side, I've noticed a serious lack of Sky's in the dealerships for service. I've been in contact with my fellow Saturn techs in Florida and California and I'm glad to report that Sky's spend less time in the shop then any other Saturn product (based on the triangle of FL, CA, and WA).This time of year, when driving is at it's peak for convertibles, we can be assured that we made a good investment when we bought our Sky's.

It's nice to hear, but it's even better to see. Give me an Ion with a hydrolocked motor or a Aura with a whining p/s line. The Sky..."Just came in for an oil change, nothing bad to report."

Is there a bluetooth module that could be added to our existing radio?

This is the only unti I've found so far for the Sky:

Bluetooth Car Kit - Accessories Bluetooth HandsFree Car Kit from MimoUSA.com

Hey Saf!

I'm looking into tapping into the CAN Bus on the car. Do you have any info on that? Or what all network technologies does the car use? Does GM publish any of that? I'd love to make an AUX DIC that shows more than one line at a time, or possibly push other vehicle info to the existing DIC, like Vehicle Speed!
