Saturn Employee

Good day everyone! I'm new SkyRoadster.com and I'm very happy to be here. Not only am I a Saturn certified technician, but I've been employed with Saturn for 6 years now and I am myself a proud Sky owner. If you have any questions regarding maintainance, upkeep, or anything Saturn related please feel free to contact me. I look forward to reading and responding to your posts.

We just received our 2008 Carbon Flash Sky Redline edititions and I'm happy to say I'll be trading in my 2007 Sky for one within the month.

Where are they Now...

I'm in Renton, Washington. Long story short, worked for Saturn in Jacksonville...then circumstances brought me to my home state of California but I stayed with Saturn. After circumstances had changed, I moved to my "final resting place" or Washington.

I wouldn't work for any other automaker out there. Saturn is my family.

What's the VIN break number for insertion of auxiliary brake vacuum pumps on 08RL?

Hi Stephen,

I'm north of Seattle.

Been lurking here a couple of weeks and plan to test drive a Redline real soon and hopefully buy one before our short summer goes away.

Is the inventory for Renton Saturn as displayed on Autotrader.com always current?

Welcome

I have some questions? What was the final count of the 07 Sky's made? And how many Sunburst Yellow Sky's were produced? People have asked me. We are on our third Saturn [01 SC2, 03 Ion 3 and our 07 Sky]. By far our Sky has been the best car ever owned. We still get a kick out of it, even after 1 year driving it. ED [Go Thunda]

I know exactly where your going with this. It scared the sh** out me the first time I had no vac. in the booster and the brand new Redline I was certifying started to roll toward my toolbox.

I don't know the answer for this one off hand, but I'll research it with the GM engineers on Monday morning and get back to you ASAP. We (techs) have a direct phone number for technical assistance issues.

Good questions!! I've had my Sky for exaclty 1 year (yesterday) and I still smile like an idoit when I see her in the driveway every morning. Also, glad to see you've stuck with the Saturn family. I'm always happy to see a satisfied repeat cutomer like myself.

I'll find out some exact numbers on Monday when corporate offices are open. I looked at the yellow myself, but setteled on the silver. You made a wise choice my friend. A beautiful color and an amazing vehicle.

First off, welcome to the forum.
Not trying to put you on the spot, but as a Saturn tech guy, what do you think of the Mallett Sky?

Are you kidding? lol

If I only had the money.....

***dreaming of a V8 conversion***

This is something I tell everyone, it seems. Not sure about most of you, but I get the "It has a V6 in it, right?"

I say with pride "No, 2.4 (or 2.0) four cylinder, but there IS a company that offers a V8 conversion...if you have the money.

Someday...

Having said that, while I was in college (GM-ASEP) I interned at a Chevrolet dealership in Florida and had the pleasuer of working on quite a few Vette's. Their power has always impressed me and now to see that mated with the beauty of the Sky...let's just say there are some parts of my anatomy I'd trade for a chance to own one.

What I was really getting at, do you think the basic Sky drive train is being pushed to its limits with a V8. When I first talked with Chuck, I asked him about the standard transmission, and he said It would be fine. It's rated for only 260 foot pounds of torque from what I've read about. I'm not sure about the half shaves, read end and "U" joints.

Kenny has a sky? Wow...it's been a few years since I've talked to him. I figured you would have bought it from Tal Boatright. Thanks for giving me Kenny's userid, I'll have to drop him a line.

If your still in Jax let me know what dealership you go to. I can recommend the top tech at each of the three dealerships to you. If you still go to the Avenues, make sure to have Mike Voit work on your car. He and I were stall neighbors in the shop and we taught each other a TON of information. I still talk to him weekly via MSN messenger when we're at work.
