scratched up rim

So we accidently hit a curb in the car(not I) and scratched the outer part of the rim. I heard that rims can be repaired(aluminum alloy). Can anyone confirm this?

Im lucky though, we have a spare rim from when my mom hit our car and put a minor surface scratch on the rim, but geico replaced it anyways and let us keep the old rim.

A gate hit poor Siouxsie after I first got her six months ago and scraped the rims. The body works place (Service King) sent the rim off somewhere and it looks great. I don't know where they sent it, but they can be reworked.

Theres a shop by me (has a website too) that can fix polished and painted rims. They sand them down smooth and either paint or polish. I will try to locate the card. I met the guy at the NY car show. Got some pics of some nice new cars too The guy is in Rockland county NY

I did this too, ther is a shop in Dallas that repairs wheels. Not just sanded and painted but you cannot tell they were ever damaged. The cost was like 135.00 per wheel. If they can do it here I am sure any bigger city will have a shop like this. Mine was not just scratched but gashed fairly deep, they said as long as the wheel was not bent it was the same price.
