Well.

I've pulled tanks out because there was hard crap like sand and rust plugging the fuel filters and suction screens and trashing the fuel pump or even had the fuel filter fail and had to take apart caburators or fuel injectors and rail regulators to get the crap out.

And I've pulled tanks to clean water contaminated fuel out.It's all the same thing and it sucks.

It's probably actually easier to get the water out. Pump whatever gas/ water out. Put new clean gas with a can of heat for good measure. Purge the fuel lines. Hook it back up and most of the time it's all good.

had one of my cars trashed by a fuel truck filling the tanks at an old gas station. ( Oh that's right the saints at myth busters say that doesn't exist.)

I don't think anyone called them saints, and I don't think that they ever said that.
