So what product would you like JPM to make?

I think it's always a good idea to go right to the source to come up with good ideas for products. I know most of my popular products were suggestions by customers and not something I came up with myself. Unfortunately, I don't have a sky or solstice so coming up with new things is not that easy.

So, I'm proposing that you post up what you'd like to see made into a new product by us at JPM. New products will be selected by the amount of general interest in it and the person submitting the idea will get that item at cost or even free depending on what it is.

So, let the brainstorming begin and post up your ideas. I'll keep a list here on the first post.

Ideas for products:
pocket/storage around console area
seat lowering kit
saggy seat fix kit
iPod holder

What about a "saggy seat repair kit" ?

You gave great directions on how to fix it, but a kit with the right foam and everything would be a lot better for we who are not such great "handymen".

Being 6'4", I would LOVE to be able to order a "Low Seat" kit. It would have a much thinner seat bottom with slightly more dense foam and a stock appearing seat cover. If you need our original foam and/or cover, and exchange program would be very helpful for those of us that drive our Sky daily.

I really like the thin design on the Ferrari 599:

Hmm, that might actually be feasable. Before I put this up, let me do some research on seat foam. One of my least favorite things about the sol/sky is how soft the seats are. Too squishy for performance driving. The good thing is that there are inserted hardware points for hog rings so making a duplicate cushion out of more dense foam might be doable.

I'm only 6'2 and I can't say I would definitely buy the low-seats, but it's certainly something I would like to sit in and see. I think it might be one of those things that I'd try to get 30-40k miles out of the originals first... I don't think they're too squishy for performance driving, but they're certainly not firm. I have Sparco Milano 2's in my other car and that is a firm seat, probably bordering on too firm for any kind of extended seat-time.

That's a tough one. I've been thinking about coming out with a peice that pre-formed to fill the void area. Something I'll have to work out with the foam research.

I think the interior of the Beira looks gorgeous, and it's just a converted solstice. It's really just most of the parts covered with alcantara, though the new seat coverings look amazing too. Do you guys offer a leather/alcantara dash? I'm picking up my new sky today (!!!) and will be ordering a console cover and a few other parts in alcantara, but it would be nice to one day do the whole dash. I always wanted to do that on my 3000gt, but i've never seen a company like you that works on them (though if you are interested in making things for the 3000GT and dodge stealth, there is a very healthy owners group at 3si.org... they would love your attention! Oh, and i still have my 3000GT!)

But yeah, the Beira looks great.

So... is there anything on that interior that you don't do? I noticed they don't seem to have stitching on the center armrest cover... I can't decide which looks better!

Wow, I wonder why I haven't seen that. I have done dashes before.

Peice of cake. I can actually recreate that whole interior if you'd like. They need some padding on the console though

BTW, no there isn't anything we won't do. I hate when I try to do something and someone tells me it's not possible. Anything is possible for the right budget.

Oooh, that looks gorgeous! You should put that picture on your site, i've never seen that! Also, i really want to know what the visor covers look like installed, because they look like they might be hokey. Seeing your work i can't imagine they really are, i just need to be reassured with a picture. Could you do that?

And how much would you charge for a dash like that?

The dash is $495. The guage cover is $115 I think.

I really like the thin design on the Ferrari 599:
YES PLEASE!

I'm 6'5 and there is one big problem with the seats for me. In the position I have to get them to fit in their properly, I have no lower back support (none!) for the proper sitting position. And while I'm comfortable for an hour or so, I pay if my drive is longer than that. A short seat with properly placed lumbar support would get my money!

On another note, is there an easy way for me to go somewhere and see what alcantera feels like? There's a couple of pieces I'd like changed in the car but I'm not sure if I want leather or alcantara.

Doh, sorry. The sky forum doesn't give me nearly enough PM's as a vendor.

cleared out some for you

As for the seats, no problem at all. We can definitely do pink or some combination with pink in it. Since it's not a new item, you'd have to pay full price though. Actually, I'd probably give a small discount just to see what pink seats look like

On the alcantara, not really. There is only one distributor in the US that sells to manufacturers like me. There might be a few shops in your area that carry it but I would imagine most carry an imitation.

A few things to know when asking about it....

Alcantara is specific to automotive use in the United States. The rest of the Alcantara line in the US is more commonly known as Ultrasuede. The texture is close enough to guage what the Alcantara line feels like. More shops are familiar with Ultrasuede b/c it is used in furniture. However, Ultrasuede is becoming a generic name for some similar to Kleenex. They will refer to a product as Ultrasuede when it is in fact an imitation material.

Of course, you can also visit your local Lambourghini or Ferrari dealership and ask to see an interior

One simple accessory would be a simple pocket for an IPOD or other MP3 player that attaches to the center console - the basic audio system has an aux in port on the front of the head unit, but no place to put the music player. Oh, and I would love it if it covered the passenger side cup holder and prevented it from popping out.

I know you specialize in leather but if you ever want to venture into plastics. I would just like to see some of our plastic panels redone in a good quality softer plastic. I even like the fake leather stuff the car has on the center arm rest and doors. I wouldn't mind seeing the plastic behind the seats covered in that. It just seems a bit overkill to cover everything in real leather. It is not an Aston Martin after all. I would take an Aston Martin interior conversion over a Ferrari one. I would also like to second the seat bottom and lumbar support upgrade kit.
