Soon to be owner!

My wife is thinking about buying a 2008 Redline. We will be paying cash for it, but the color with options she wants is not on the lot and they will have to do a trade with another dealer. I currently can get around $2500 off of the sticker with GM discounts. Will the dealers come down any more or are we out of luck because it’s not sitting on their lot?

Welcome to the forum!! Saturn's price policy is MSRP with no haggle. Your price with or without GM discounts won't change whether it's on the lot or you order. Don't expect them to come down off the price, but of course any tradein or add-ons are another matter. Adding a dealer trade into the mix shouldn't change things a bit. Good luck and keep us posted!

....white sucks.....it's only good as a base color for crappy pin-striping jobs..........actually any color is fine....it is covering the finest body in the automotive world....

My wife wants black, There is a red one I would like for her to buy. The car lot selling it is selling for a gentleman who won the car at a gambling boat. He wants to sell it for the money. It is a Redline with everything except the spoiler and the lot quoted me $27,000 right off the bat. I think I can get it for $26. It only has 500 miles on it. My wife would rather spend $5,000 more because she says Red says look at me to much. I told her this car says look at me, the red just makes you look better.

Umm. Sounds domestic. Good luck. I noticed your slow posts post. You should be on unmoderated full speed posting pretty soon. <scratching head> There's a delay with the software getting you on free-flow.

The red _would_ be much easier to keep clean and swirlfree, but still saying out of the marital disputes.

Marraige Counseling . . .

Secret to a successful marraige:
Husband needs to nod head and say "Yes, dear - whatever you want is fine with me." Cuz' if she ain't happy - hubby will be miserable.

TRANSLATION: Her car . . . she gets to pick - that is IF you want a happy wife.

Welcome to the forum. Price sounds pretty good for an 08 redline with only 500 miles, that is hardly broke-in. As for the color, you see my preference but both the black and red look great. If it is an everyday driver the black will be a little more difficult to keep shining. Having said that, I must concurr wtih above....whatever makes her happy.

Here's the secret, as soon as she turns the ignition key permigrin sets in and any color will make her grin.

She plan’s on driving only a couple times a week. Her plan is to buy it, drive it for the next 6 years, than Happy Birthday to our 10 year old daughter (2014).

My 13-year-old son will get mine in 4 years, they just raised the driving age to 17 here in Georgia, much to my son's dismay...

Jut got a call from the dealership. They are down to 26,000 now! I am thinking about going into them with a check for 25,500 with their name on it.

Speaking from experience here:
My EX-husband bought me a different car than I had planned
&
I am currently the very happy wife of a very smart man who said "get what you want" -
I really think you should run this decision by your wife FIRST !

Plus I know two wives who are p.o'd at thier hubby's right now -
one bought a black car when she wanted a white one late last year
&
the other bought a blue car when she wanted a red one - and that was THREE years ago.
You have been warned.

She is making the decision here. She would rather have Black, but Red with $5,000 in her pocket make's the Red more attractive to her. She can get whatever she wants, she is the one paying for it.

Good for you two!! These cars are so much fun to drive. IMHO I like the lines of the car without the spoiler. And I have been at speeds where a spoiler might have been useful but my ride was smooth and firm on the ground.
