Sport Pedals and Personal Audio Link Install

So, I think I'm ordering my Sky RL this week. Told the salesman that I wanted to have the optional Sport Pedals ($140) and Personal Audio Link ($159) installed on the car. They quoted me $535, which means they're charging me $236 for the install of these two items. Needless to say, this seems absurdly high to me. The pedals, I'm guessing, will not take long at all....and I can't imagine the PAL taking very long either. Does this sound fair to you guys? I'm gonna get another quote from a local dealer and see if it's similar, but thought I'd check with you guys too. Let me know. Thanks.

Yes I do believe they (SS Sport pedals) are standard in the R/L -- in the 2.4 they come with the trim package.

Yes, they do make the mods confusing at the dealer. I think so they can charge you for them if they get the chance.

I am glad I bought mine used and it came loaded with everything saved me 10K off the get go.

You're right! You know more than my salesman haha

In any case, I called a different dealer and their quote was $449 ($150 for the installation) rather than the other dealers $535 quote. Interesting how the two quotes are so different....

WAIT you mean you think that's good? THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THE SPORT PEDALS.... So if the audio link is $159 -- they are hitting you with $290 install of that link... YIKES!

My RL just showed up at the dealer and is having the PAL installed. I was quoted for 2 hrs labor to install at roughly $60 per hour (guessing). So yea, that seems a little expensive. On the positive side, having a dealer install the pal covers it under any warranty issues (or issues arising from install).

Saturn Sky of the Valley quoted me $180 for the install. (2) hours work. I purchased the PAL from the Parts dept. cost me $172 with tax. I think I'm gonna go to another radio install place and see what they quote me....

Just took my PAL over to my regular radio install guy at Simon's Stereo in North Hollywood, California and he said he would do it for $60. Now that is a great deal. His guy will carefully read the instructions and take his time with the install. I will take pictures of the install and post them for everyone....doing it tomorrow at 10AM.

I got my PAL installed for 1 hour labor at the local dealer. I was their first one the same week it came out, and they seemed a little pissed about how long it actually took them. They said no one else would get the install at that price. I'm sure the time would come down after doing a couple of them though. I believe it took them almost 3 hours, and then I still had to take it back for a change to get it working correctly.

Obviously, most people are unaware you must disassemble the WHOLE dash to do anything to the radio.
