Still looking for more chrome on the wheels

A few weeks ago I posted my find of a chrome finish under the grey paint on the back half of the chrome rims. After cleaning the paint off I was very pleased with the shiny back sides. They are also a lot easer to clean. Then in our American way of thinking " if some is good, more must be better I decided to see if the backs could be chromed "smooth" just like the front. The anwswr is YES!!. What I did find is a company that will send you a fresh NEW chromed set of factory rims, exchange, you return your painted rims, they then chrome those for the next customer. The cost is $550. Thats $249 less than the factory upgrade for a superior chromed rim. I'm going to offer my chrome rims to another sky owner for abour 1/2 the option price and have my rims chromed on both sides. That will cost me an additionas $200. With our spokes so wide apart and being able to see through so well "which I like" I believe this will look awsome, multiplied by infinity.

I know exactly what you're talking about because I ordered from the same company.
It was a great price for the chroming on both sides of the wheel! Can we say "super-shiny"

I ordered my Sky with the painted wheels because I figured I would switch to aftermarket soon after. However after seeing all the offers so far out there on the market, there weren't any good looking set of 5 spoke style that I wanted in the 5 x 110 bolt pattern without going to a custom fabrication (e.g. - ccwheel or gravana) which would also cost alot of money...around $2,500 not including tires. I'll save that amount of money for a turbo kit later on.

I wanted to put 19's on but no styles out there tickled my fancy. Plus, I love the ride quality of the 18's which I think is perfect already....sooo I'm sticking with 18's for now as I can see...and as I mentioned before in another thread, if I was going to put chrome wheels on my yellow then it would be the stock wheel pattern.

They are shipping to me on Monday and I expect to have them before the weekend.
I can't wait to install them and freshen up the look of my ride...now Sunny will really shine!

Glad to know there is someone else that believes this will be exceptionally SHARP. Please PM me with who you used, must be the same people in Ca. The retailer even gave me the name (Frank) and number to the plater. I spoke to Frank, He said they would look FANTASTIC, with the back side looking just like the front. He also said there process being of a much higher quality will result in a very bright "white" chrome and very noticable compared to the factory rims. Let me know when you send your rims back, I may be able to get those done for me. JUST HAVE TO SEE PICS AS SOON AS YOU GET THEM, BEFORE AND AFTER GOING ON YOUR SKY. Thanks for the reply. Now I am really excited..

Took wheel off car. Used Gumout Carb cleaner and a Scotch Bright pad. Spraying and cleaning, Then coat of chrome polish.

Well things do move fast some time. At lunch today I called the only other SKY owner I know and asked if they would like to buy my chrome rims if and when the CHROMER got the next set of SKY rims in. She would check with hubbie. About 5pm Ann from the chromer called and said she had a set to be chromed. I asked her to hold on untill the am. On the way home from work, turning into the subdivision there was another Silver Pearl Sky in front of me. I stalked it to its home and met the owners. While talking to them my other Sky friend called and wanted my chrome rims. Told my new Sky friends bye bye and immediately call Ann back and ordered my MORE CHROME rims. I verified the back will be just as smooth and shinny as the front. About 10 days to complete and ship..I BELIEVE THESE RIMS WILL TOTALLY SET THE SKY ABLAZE! I agree with you, our stock rims are about as sharp as we can get. This MOD will be just mind blowing. Can't wait to see your pics..

Got my new chrome rims last Friday and mounted them over the weekend.
They did a great job on the chroming process & were carefully packed...all were in excellent, flawless condition. They were so clean and shiny I could eat off them & see my reflection.

They look awsome. Does the chrome finish look "whiter" "chromier" how is that for a word.... than our stock chrome rims. Chromer (FRANK) said he uses a premium ,copper, nickle, chromium process, and you should see a big differance.
My rims (3 done, one to go) will be ready to ship this friday. I should have by end of the week next week.
