Try using a clay bar on your windshield. Then wax your windshield just like you would the rest of your car. Most of the time you don't even need your wipers when it rains. I like Eagle One spray wax for the windshield.

Steve,

Go with what Ken is telling you to use. I believe I started that original thread and I can tell you that the vinegar mix works like a charm. Although Morfious said my car smells like salad!

Use BonAmi cleaning powder in a paste form. Won't scratch the glass either. GM used to sell it as a GM authorized part for cleaning glass due to it not scratching or hazing.

Steve - make a paste of the Bon Ami and use a wet sponge to rub it over the windshield.
You do have to put some muscle behind it but it does work.
Rinse with a hose on a flood setting & a clean sponge.
Repeat as necessary - may take a few times if the buildup is too much.
We use this method on all our cars.
We even cleaned years of garbage off the original windshield from a 1968 Mercury this way. (And that is our trophy-winning show car)

Windex is not a bad word it just doesn't work on these spots. You can scrub for an hour with windex and they will still be there.

Oh, i tried that and i put all the muscle i could out into it and it didnt work, like i mentioned the Invisable Glass worked fine, but not as affective, but once the spot are gone, no more driving in the rain and i'm going to put Rainx on it just in case it does

Yes... please use BonAmi! Lot's of it! It's made by a company right here in KC and my wife works for them! hehe...

Seriously, it works. It won't scratch either... just like the BonAmi chick!

Water Spots Be Gone

Well, my stubborn water spots are gone...no, i didn't use the force or some Jedi trick, but one of the greatest things every invented for cars, trucks, boats etc. Yes, i used the Absorber and instead of using a paper towel to dry off the window i tried the Absorber and "poof" they were gone! I then did a wipe off with Invisable Glass to make it shine, thank you guys and gal for all the advice...

Ken has given the best advice on removing water spots. There is nothing revolutionary about this, it's simple chemistry. Water has minerals that leave spots on your paint, glass, or anything else it is left to dry on, and the only good way to dissolve the minerals is with a weak acid solution like diluted vinegar. Just remember that vinegar will also remove the wax, so be sure to rinse, dry and re-wax right away. Another tip when cleaning glass is to use newspaper to clean and dry with. I'm not sure why, but it works better then paper towels and is cheap.
