Stupid Cats

Well...my idiot neighbors have 2 cats....you know where this story is going.

I came out this morning to a ton of prints on my hood (that I just barely detailed the day before) and 3 perfectly uniform scratches down my front bumper where it appears it slid off and tried to catch itself.

Needless to say...there was a thread on repelling cats on the solstice forum that didn't offer much help...Any fellow sky owners have advice on repelling cats? A car cover is not an option as I'm not going to deal with it on and off and on and off.

Being humane is optional...

As you can see..I'm furious (I've owned the car just a hair under two weeks)...but I've found some ultra-sonic cat repellers, I've seen some spray stuff...anyone know what works?

Ernest had a similar problem. Being humane wasn't an option for him! Here you go:

It's Just So Wrong

The Good thing is nail scratches come right out with a mild compound.

Nothing like a good Convertible Top Hammock!

You can always bare a wire, plug it into a 220 outlet and attach it to bare metal. ZZZZZTTTTTT

warning system

what about a motion activated recording of dogs barking and growling? I wonder if that would work - especially before they got onto the car.

A google search on "keep cat away from car" turns up lots of hits.

Cats or Mice which to you prefer?

Could be worse like my poor Skybaby sits in a nice garage so the cats don't walk on her the neighborhood dogs don't mark the tires and
I have mice chewing on the insulation under the engine cover and then they found the trunk and chewed on the Styrofoam under the felt cover
See if I had cats crawling all over my sky then the mouse problems would be solved

Hmm maybe that wire trick: "bare a wire, plug it into a 220 outlet and attach it to bare metal. ZZZZZTTTTTT " would work on the dang mice

Hmmmm..... with being INHUMANE....... golden marlin... put a little mound in a small container and add ROOT BEER (whatever soda you use should be sweet) and place in somewhere around your car.....

OK... THAT WAS JUST A SUGGESTION..... I dont reccomment you do this if there are pets or small children around!!!

being HUMANE...... Hmmm.... geez... all I can think of is covering your car or maybe try a 10 foot cement barrier!!! ... a neighbor suggested that one to me... I leave my garage open just a tad, but enough for a stray to get in.. ok.. I used to do that.. not anymore.... we had a COUGAR stroll from under my pool deck, around the grandkids sandbox and out toward a wheat field and pines... that is why I have a nice kitty drink mix set up back behind the burm.

I did catch one neighbor cat trying to "snooze" on Jade when she was in the driveway..... it seemed it didnt care that is wasnt HIS/HER car..... so, I was gardening and sprayed it with a hose... no scratches... just jumped straight up and flew... very comical. Best of luck!!! SkyBaby

Talk to your idiot neighbor. Kindly explain the problem. Don't offer any solution, that's their job.

If it happens again, call Animal Control.

They will make it a problem for your neighbor.

If they don't, buy a humane trap, and trap the kitties, then call Animal Control and let them know you have unwelcome guests causing damage to your property. At that point, they WILL fix the problem with your neighbor for you.

Remember: This isn't a cat problem. This is a neighbor problem. Sorry to be so blunt (and I'm an animal lover that volunteers at my local SPCA), but facts are facts.

Why did you park your car underneath cats?

(Had to look at it from the other side of the picture... Sorry!)

Cats will be cats. Get a car cover.

In this case it is your neighbors responsibility to contain their animals. I agree with the humane traps and/or animal control.

Animal Control for YOUR Area?

But that depends on were you live and what type of City/Town ordnance are in place. We live in the sticks zoned agriculture so no dog/cat catcher is coming out to our house. When you got deer standing in the driveway during hunting season you can get the gun out and shoot. We keep our cats indoors so the coyotes don't get them, our neighbor had a dog problem but finally has taken care of it seems they loaded up all the hounds and took them in for spraying and nurturing, even the ones she was not feeding. Like she said dogs belong to someone but they lay in her driveway so when the horse trailer was loading up hers and the stays wanted to go for a ride, come on boy, good dog, Neighbors dog got neutered and they may not even know it went for a ride and was let back out at the driveway

Well, I am now the proud owner of Cat repellant powder, an ultrasonic cat repeller, and 2 live animal traps that the local law enforcement was kind enough to loan me. I'll post my findings so others may benefit from my impulsive buying habits

Either way...farewell kitties.

If that doesn’t work try mixing milk and antifreeze 50/50... That should take care of it....
