Sunday Drive....Z06...and a Diablo?

Last Sunday during the wonderful weather we had in DC I had the opportunity for a nice Sunday drive...top down...sunny day. And up ahead what do I see? A Corvette. Not any Corvette..the unmistakable 4 inch quads.....it's a Z06...red. Not soon after I passed the Vette (at the posted speed limit...traffic was heavy) what do I see ahead. Low profile...another red one..but this isn't a Vette...it's a Lamborghini.....a Diablo..which I pass too (again, at the posted speed limit).

All that on a two mile stretch of roadway.

What a tradition:

One red Corvette Z06.
One red Lamborghini Diablo.
One black Saturn SKY.

Too bad you couldn't meet them, and the three of you go on a mini run around town together. That woudl have been awesome to see.

Are Z06's really that rare in other places ?

It seems like this area is lousy with them. It seems that almost half the vettes I see are Z06s (and there are a LOT of vettes around).

Unless a bunch of people are putting Z06 badging (and hoods) on regular vettes, they aren't uncommon at all here in Dallas.

I see a Z06 about once a week. I see a Lamborghini about twice a year.
See both within a quarter mile of one another on normal drive...never.

Of course, I could go down to the Chevy dealer around the corner and see about 40 Vettes on the lot. Coupe. Convertible. Z06. They even have a few Indy pacecars.

Actually, with a stroke of help from Sherwin-Williams, it's 155.

Where I work: Santa Monica, CA; ferraris and lamborghinis seem to be more common than Hondas. It's like a damn car show around here.
