Tail of the Dragon 10/22-23

We had a fine trip to the Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon Monday and Tuesday. Stayed at the Fontana Village Resort. We saw no Kappa but there were a group of Lotus Elans that followed us. Great fun. It was overcast and very foggy on top of the Cherohala but the fall colors were peak. We made ourselves a promise to go back the end of next October. My wife said, "Who needs to go to Vermont when you can have this and no traffic."

Wonderful pictures, I love the last one with the water and the bridge the best.
Yes this is one of the most beautiful area's to live in, that is why I moved from Ontario.

Thank you for sharing

Those aren't Elans - its one Elise and two Exiges up front. It's kind of hard to see the the green one at the end of the row, but it looks like another Exige. Not sure what the green car with the monster after market wing is.

It looks like a really cool trip though.

I'm not a Lotus expert--just saw the Lotus nameplate. There were four or five more that joined them later. One of the drivers came over to our Sky and asked about it several times, wanted to see the trunk, asked how comfortable it was, and said "I almost bought one of those"

I actually chose the Sky over the Elise because it is much more comfortable as a daily driver. That being said, the Elise is an AWESOME machine. I am supposed to meet up with one of the Lotus board members on Monday so we can run my Chili Pepper red Redline with his chili pepper red Elise and take a few pictures. It's amazing how much bigger the Sky is compared to the Elise.

That's got to be interesting. The Elise's didn't run the dragon when I did. I would have liked to follow them. Actually, I didn't really chalange the dragon. My wife enjoyed the drive but I got several "O.K, this is fun but slow down a little."

From a pure cornering / handling standpoint - nothing will give you a more exciting ride than the Elise / Exige.
