Taillights in all red?

The only thing I really don't like about the exterior styling of my Sky are the rear taillights. They just look a little too "ricerish" for my taste. Besides smoking them or putting the tint on them, is there any thing else that can be done? Ideally, I would like to have them just plain 'ole red like the Sol's.

Thoughts??

Agree

There must be others out there that are looking for aftermarket mods to the rear lights. I've seen other suggestions in other posts, but have yet to see an aftermarket solution. Perhaps we should put the bug in the ears of Kappasphere and the other aftermarket folks who have brought exceptional products to date.

I think they make red tint spray. Other then that, if I was tinting them I would take them a part and paint the chrome part black or body color.

not too much u can do with the stock appearance...but u can make them more noticeable when braking and turning...add a pulser to your 3rd brake light and sequential/alternating lights to the tails...looks great when working.

Have you seen Eloy's taillights on brutus. I believe he tinted them red. Search brutus and I'm sure you will find them.

Good find...I'll ping him and see what was involved. Thanks!

Should still be some kind of aftermarket for the taillights though...

You could also paint the flat section of the tail light to match body color, than smoke or tint the rest.

I painted the top section black as that's what I wanted on my silver/pearl, than tinted the rest to what I thought would keep me out of trouble with the law!.

Nicely done...I like that. I guess you took them apart and tinted/painted from the inside? How bad was it?

Actually I removed the light from the car and painted and smoked them on the outside of the glass!

I did buy a used tail light off ebay and tested to see if I could open it up but they must be put together with glue of some type cause they don't open up. They may have to be heated to release the glue, tar, but I have no way of knowing how to open up the light without trashing it!

Here is a link to a better picture:

Try this stuff:

Attachment 22862

Spray it on in layers untill you get the tint you want!

You can buy it at your local hobby shop!
