You should be able to go to the Saturn website and see exactly what the options are and the price.

Instead of negotiating price, see about negotiating EXTRAS (floor mats, extended warranty, service specials) at the going price.
Thanks Bogie, I will keep that in mind when I go to the other two dealerships today.

STREET - as Bogie said ..... about the ONLY thing you can negotiate when buying a Saturn is interest rate, trade in value or extras that aren't part of the sticker price. Sticker price is what you will pay and so will the guy behind you.

Have a friend that bought a Soltice for that very reason.

Have fun in H-burg!

Yep, not only is the GXP about two grand less than the SKY, you have another two grand of negotiating slop. That's about 4 grand difference between GXP(Invoice) and RL(MSRP). But consider some standard features are options on the GXP and standard on the SKY.

You know .... I bought my RL at the Saturn dealership in Sebring and the dealer also owns the Pontiac/GMC, etc etc dealership next door.

One Sunday I looked around the lots and kept going back and forth between the Saturns and Solstice, looked at EVERYTHING (including the window stickers), knowing that I could negotiate on the Solstice and nada on the Saturn. Did about everthing but sit in both and raise the hoods.

I bought the Sky.

Being 6'5", I have to get used to the small windshield, and secondly, not being able to fit my hand between the seat and the door to adjust the back rest while the door is closed. Other than that, it was an absolutely awesome ride...even at 110 mph (but don't tell the dealer...lol).

Anyway, I have a few more questions. The MSRP on it was 33,720. The dealer did not take anything off the price of the vehicle, except for the 1500.00 cash incentive. They were offering 6.9% financing through GMAC, however, when I told them that I will be financing through my credit union at 4.9%, they came back and said that can finance it through GMAC at 4.64%.

Secondly, they told me there was NO mark up on the Sky's, and that the price is what it is. I asked to see the dealer invoice, and the sales manager would not show me. I have purchased 2 brand new cars in the past and have always gotten between $2500-$3000 extra off the price of the car. Is this too much to expect?

Anyway, we were looking at the 2008 Black Onyx Redline, black leather, monsoon stereo, decklid spoiler, chrome wheels, etc. If the car MSRP's at $33.720, what should I expect the dealer to come down to????

Tomorrow, we are planning on travelling 2 hours to Saturn of Harrisburg and Saturn of Lancaster (Pennsylvania) to see what kind of a deal they can offer....if anyone can give me a ball park figure on what the dealer would most likely come down, I'd appreciate it.

Or, is there really very little mark ups on the Sky's???
Street5927,

My wife and I own 2 Skys, The first one we bought when I went down to the dealer to order my Black Onyx Redline, black and tan leather, monsoon stereo w/6 disc, spoiler, chrome wheels, etc. and they told me there was a waiting period of about 6 months, he then told me that they had one coming in in a couple of days but that it was a std. Sky Chile Pepper with auto, sgl. disc. monsoon and no other opts. I told him to write it up and that I would bring in a check the next day.

When I got home and told my wife that I bought a Red Sky she just about flipped and said she didn't want it, so I called the dealer the next day to cancel the deal. Well when the Roadster arrived the next day and the salesman called to ask if I wanted to see it anyway! I agreed and went down to the dealer fell in love with it and called the wife to just come down to see it. She did and loved it too, I then told her that we could drive it for 6 month and sell it for what we paid for it when the Redline arrived. She was a little hesitant but agreed anyway. When the Redline arrived we put a for sale sign on the Chili Pepper and had 3 calls within a couple hours of driving around. We had the sign on for about a week when the wife desided to keep it.

I just want to say that we love both of them and have no regrets. There have been a few problems similar to what you will see on this forum but, we are now ready to buy her a new Redline in silver or the new metalic red. Don't know if we will sell hers or not! I think they will be collector cars in the future, like the Vette.

When we bought ours we were told that Saturn does not deal on prices. We paid around 26k for the Chile and 36k for the Redline in 06

For what it's worth!

Here are the frequencies in Terahertz.

Red 384 - 482
Orange 482 - 503
Yellow 503 - 520
Green 520 - 610
Blue 610 - 659
Violet 659 - 769

Red is actually the slowest.

I too am looking for my sky (from NY, looking in PA). I believe that the Saturn dealers in this part of PA are all owned by the same group/individual therefore their pricing policies will likely be the same. York, Harrisberg, State College, Lancaster, and...one more can't remember.
