For those who do not Drive their SKY every day

When the weather is nice - Do you drive your SKY to work?

I love to drive my SKY and can usually come up with some good excuses. It is down for most of the winter (a Salt-Free diet for SUNNI1) but if it is clear and dry I'll take it out for fun.
Once Summer is here - I have gone back and forth on daily driving to work. I do avoid it if there are threats of thunderstorms (hail), but am not afraid of rain. It is the daily driving I wonder about. I tend to take it to work only 1 - 2 times a week, I like to keep it for fun drives - not just back and forth (only 10 miles each way). I do like it on Fridays -- keeps that day special, but often will leave it home on the other 4 days...
You?

My rule: If it's sunny and the roads are dry and most of the gravel/sand we use here instead of salt is off the road, and I don't have to haul computers around, I drive the Sky and the top is down. Coldest top-down drive so far is 28.

In the summer, I only drive it to work once or twice a week. I'd drive it more often, but it's so dusty here with the wind, the dust settles in the top and makes a bit cloud when I put the top down. My trunk is really dirty and dusty from it. Otherwise, I'd drive it way more often.

Usually not when it rains though.

I try to drive mine to work once a week, usually on Friday if the weather is dry. I don't mind driving in the cold with the top down (though cold here is around 40-degrees). I've driven it only a couple of times with the top up. Even in cold weather, the heater still works with the top down.

I don't drive it in the rain. I avoid rain days because I don't need another damn car to wash. Mine sits outside under a cover so all I have to do is give it a quick wipe down the the duster and hit it with quick detail and a micro towel. I've washed it only three times in the five months I've owned it.

I drive mine to work every day it's not raining and the salt is off the roads. Last winter I was able to drive it into December because it was a mild winter for us. I just didn't put the top down. Even with some road trips, the commute and work and personal errands I am still under 6000 miles in almost 2 years. I am ashamed of myself... I took her out of park status and ran around on the nice Sunday we had last week before more snow was dumped on us. I got to drive a bit with the top down and waved at all the people that also un-mothballed their cars and motorcycles.
I am fortunate enough to be able to park in an employee only/no student lot that is over-sized. I have a crappy cell phone picture somewhere that I snapped from the roof of the car all by her lonesome out there while I was checking a microwave antenna. I can't wait for the latest batch of salt and snow to disappear.

during the summertime i drive mine to work whenever i get the chance, and the rain doesnt bother me much. i am too scared to drive my car to school at Buff State College, im thinking some punk kid will get to close or scratch it. at school its big open parking lots so anyone could just walk up and touch or come near my baby. which brings me to this question .. . . . . does anyone have an aftermarket car alarm that they could recommend? maybe PM me and tell me which works best? thanks all !

I pretty much only drive it to work if it's nice out.....I like him to stay clean so he's spoiled rotten. So of course he's tucked away in the garage until the salt is gone...awaiting spring. I'll take him out in the rain during spring/summer/fall if I want to go someplace on the weekend or take a trip, but during the week for work only if it isn't going to rain. Glad to see I'm not alone!

In season (and living in Wisconsin this winter I am not sure if that season will ever come again) I take it to work at least once a week, usually Friday to get it ready for the weekend.

I drive mine everywhere... i already have a car that i baby and im starting to enjoy it less and less... because all i do is worry... The sky i can easily get replacement parts or a whole new car. My Fiero GT can't be easily replaced because nothing for it is made anymore. But i drive my Sky in snow even with the summer tires... i take it easy and i have a short drive to work but i try and drive it every day

I drive it as much as I can....to work....on the weekends....more and more. The only bad thing is that when I take it to the carwash it leaks under the window on the passenger side so I like to avoid the rain as much as I can. Really do enjoy it though.

Fun Run Only

My Chili is for fun run's only, look what happened when I did drive it to work, a deer hit me on my way home. So only a nice sunny day or my fun run weekends away. Keeps the thrill a thrill.

Since I work in New York City, the answer is a resounding no. But I make up for it at night and on the weekends!!

Indubitably I bought my Sky so my wife can use it to drive it to work. It's purpose in life is to safely take her to work & back at a reasonable cost and to save $$$ on fuel costs while looking real cool. So far, it is doing that very well. With what I was paying monthly for fueling the H2 not only pays for the Sky, BUT, that includes the fueling of the Sky. Which was our goal. And then, we of course go in our little cruises & running around with or other kappa friends on the weekends.
IF the weather turns down here, IE: rain or heavy rain, mama takes the H2 which is way more superior for inclement weather driving and a major upgrade in the safety factor and visibility. If ya can't see my big bad yellow H2 coming at cha, your in BIG trouble...

Spring to Fall, every day driving to work. No salt or snow, but other than that, it's a 5 mile trip to work each day.

I can't stand being without my car so I drive it every day. I don't understand the mentality of not driving it if you want to.

Hubby has a WRX/STI and drives the big old SUV to work mostly. Doesn't want to rack up the miles. I get grouchy if I have to take the SUV.
