Took the RPI plunge today.....

Ordered the exhaust and intercooler for my '08 RL from Eloy today. I can only hope that the install goes as smoothly and painlessly as the phone call to Eloy did to order!
Anyone have any tips/hints from their own experiences installing?

Thanks Eloy for calling me back so quickly and a purchase that I felt confident about after hanging up with you!

Eric

The ramps would work nice for the IC install but they don't work to nice for the exhaust. The problem is everything is easy right up till you have to get to the bolts were the Cat. is, it litterly sits under the engine. I had such a wonderfull time trying to get at them since all i had was the ramps

You will love the RPI exhaust i do and for the guys at RPI they really do a great job with customer service.

Now only if i can get my tips to ajusted so they are centered between the gap in the back

I suggest using jack stands when installing the intercooler. This way, you can turn the wheels by hand to get to the screws in the wheelwell. I used a lift when I did the exhaust.

PLEASE!!! Let me know what you think, I was going to do the same thing. So far the intercooler is the only mod that the ECM doesn't "correct", but the exhaust sounds incredible, that's why I was going to do it anyway. The exhaust sounds more true to the car as opposed to theother exhaust that sounds more ricer to me. PLEASE let me know everything yougo through and think about the finished product!!

Will do, just waiting on delivery. Should be any day now, forgot to get tracking #'s and everyone at RPi is at SEMA this week, lol.

I'm still on the fence about doing the exhaust install on stands/ramp myself or paying a shop. I'm not worried about the work, just whether the space created will suffice for an easy install.

YellowSky, were you referring to the exhaust or ic (or both) when you said...

Well, the intercooler came today FedEx while I was at work and it has to be signed for so I should get it tomorrow. Best case, Thurs am install before work, worst case Saturday along with the exhaust!
