Touch Up Paint

I have tried (2) times now to order touch up paint for the car. I have tried different companys with exactly the same result. The wrong color. The color looks more like Midnight Blue then Bluestone. I have confirmed my color from the label in the glovebox. Has anybody ordered paint and if so from where?
Thanks!

I was hoping to get touch up pens and the dealer does not have them as an option. I suppose if I had to order from them I will.

i have worked at a automotive paint jobber for years and it is extremely hard to brush touch up a color with as much pearl and as saturated as bluestone.
before we got our car i mixed some of the color and did a spray out, my wife who had seen the color on a sky said it was not even close, when we got the car it was almost dead on. if you want to try to touch up i reccomend going to an auto paint store and have them mix you 1\2 pint of the color, when you brush it on sometimes you can make it lighter or darker by brushing different directions. also you will need a little bit of clear to go over the paint or it will be dull compared to the rest of the car. hope this helps i'm not looking forward to when i have to touch up our bluestone.

Here's a site I am considering on ordering paint when I'm ready.

http://www.paintscratch.com/

They give excellent explanations etc etc on the "how to" and what to expect. It can be complicated to match exactly what you have and not "see" the repair. Finally, I would check with the dealer, but with them you get the typical dealer bottle with the thick brush. Also, our old products provider, on post #7 of this thread give "professional" advice and away "to do-it-yourself" with the stuff the dealers gives out.

The sample I attached was from them. I have ordered from them in the past and the color matched perfectly. I will check out the link you provided.

I accidently scraped the rocker panel from one end to the other when i backed out of my driveway and there was a piece of cinder block someone had moved... I think it was my son when he blocked the wheel on his car.
I used a bottle of the dealer paint and you couln;t even see it after i was finished... unless you got right down on your hands and knees and closely...
I also touched up some rock chips successfully.

The last time I washed the car I noticed a very thin scratch on the left drivers side mirror. I could probably leave it alone but I am sure some stone is going to get me sooner or later and I should have the paint on hand.

some colors are easier to match\blend. in solid colors without pearls and or metallics,it can be done easier because metallic and pearl colors need to reflect light in a certain way or they will look cloudy and not look bright and or show an even reflection.

The touchup paint via the dealer can be used as a brush on OR a pen... So there is no option. You either unscrew one cap to expose the pen tip - or another to pull the brush -- Pretty slick!

If it is a very thin scratch, it is possible that it is just in the clear coat layer and not all the way through to the paint. I would try using a scratch remover first, such as Scratch X. I was able to remove some scratches from my Grand Prix successfully with it.

Although it is a good idea to have some touch-up paint on hand for those inevitable rock chips.

Good news. I received replacement pens from one of the vendors and this time the paint matches! Thank you all for the tips. I did try Scratch X since I had some but no luck its deeper than the clear coat.

Scratch X works great as long as the scratch is not too deep.
