Yours came out really great.
I have the brush on (Dupli-color as well) and with a yellow car - the yellow color will not be a stretch. I want to get SKY decals as well. The decals ARE heat resistant are they not??

I'm definitely going to repaint my calipers once the car arrives (red of course, all the car will be playing on the red/black/chrome scheme). Is there only some kind of suggestion about the letters? Or are there "already made" stickers or something like that you can simply put on them once the paint is dry?

I ordered my decals from an ebay vendor which had no mention of heat durability. I clear coated in a high temp clear to keep them from peeling.

I will be interested to see how they stand up durability wise because they do look SHARP!

Most brake paints are designed to withstand high temps. When they dry they have almost like a thick acrylic feel to them. I've heard that you can use standard paint but that you want to lay down a base of high temp primer before you do use the regular paint.

Please keep us posted on how they hold up. My brakes on the GP have started looking horrible and I'm debating on what to do to them. Currently waiting to do a F-body brake upgrade and just paint those when I get them done...maybe powdercoat...we'll see.

Oh never heard of High Temp clear coat -- sounds good...
I hope it is satin or flat -- I kinda like that dull almost powercoat finish look.

You can write the gy on EBay and he will make what you want and charge you for it.

I have been on the fence for quite a while about painting my calipers, I have the same color scheme as you do and I think you just got me off the fence Hows the saying go Imitation is the highest form of flattery or something like that I think I'm going to do the same to my car except I don't have a redline so I will probably go with the white saturn decals. Now all I have to do is the work itself. I might try taking the calipers off instead of all the prep work you did with plastic and all. I found the paint tonight at autozone. They had some kind of base coat I forgot what they called it but I read in your post that you didn't use that so I think I will skip that also. I only have 4200 miles on my car and the calipers still look real good. Thanks for being the test car on that color. I like it very much

Definitely a nice job. Liked it so much I went and picked up a couple cans to add to my parts stash before the car even got here. LOL. I will paint them when I do the brake upgrade from RPIPower that way I can take the calipers off. Was considering having them powdercoated though. Have someone who would do them for $150 a set and he can get pretty much any color you want. Not sure if powdercoating would be better as the metal cast paints are pretty good.

It looks good Xmicro, however, I have heard from a few people that these paints will "flake off" after a year or so from the heat, & in fact have flaked off, even using "caliper paint" and that they will get dull after a bit from the heat. Granted, in our case no one has had painted calipers yet for over a year. However, at some point many that have done it will approach that time 'round here later this year. I was going to paint mine until I found out about this "flaking" because of the heat yesterday. I sure would hate to put the effort and money, and then have to go thru the process again in a a year or so. What do all think bout this "flaw"??
