I did mine myself as you see in post #1. I would not get an oil change at Jiffy Lube, no less have them touch anything else. It is easy, takes about 6 hours, do it yourself!

i am seriously thinking about painting my calipers.. but i am thinking it would be a nicer job (plus less chance of a mess) if I pull them off the car to do it.. I am not a huge car guy so I am little unsure as to what kind of headache I will have with pulling them off the car? Can someone tell me if I am making a big mistake by doing this and what is involved? If there is a thread on here about all this just point the way! Thanks!!!

Taking them off is not to big of a job, obviously you'd need the wrenches etc to do the job -- BUT when you say take them off - do you mean ALL the way? If you disconnect the brake line -- then you'll be bleeding the lines etc at re-install.
With a brush job (even spray) the tape off is a LOT easier.

X - did you ever get the decals put on? If so - pics!!

I've got a 4-wheel disc set on my VUE and right now it has the SSBC logos on it, but I'd love to repaint them all blue and put a Red Line decal on.

Xmicro,
My calipers look 10 times better since the paint mod. Thanks for the detailed "How-To" on this mod.

What I want to know is which took more time, covering the entire car and garage with plastic or painting the calipers?

They look fantastic! Just in time for Sunday's show! Hope the weather holds out.

The masking took longer for sure. Actually I did this mod last year at this time..... but they STILL look the same as when I did them, no chipping!

Sorry, I plead blonde! I didn't look at the dates and I thought this was a new post. I was wondering what happened to the decals and the new rims!?!? DUH!!
