Update on Jade and GM/Saturn

we have heard back and from what I understand... they are offering a VERY LOW dollar amount and I am at the point of disgust with GM/Saturn...... The permagrin has been long gone and I wont be doing this anymore. On top of that... I received another service sheet from the dealership.. and on just about every item it states that they cant find or duplicate issues .. BUT.. RIGHT UNDER THERE.... IS THE WORD.. REPAIR... AND THEY REPAIRED/REPLACED JUST ABOUT ALL... OF THE... NOT BROKEN THINGS... If they cant find the issues or duplicate them.. WHY THE HELLL WOULD THEY REPLACE THEM??????????????????????? I am very dissatisfied with Saturn and wont be buying another one. Not worth all the fuss and crap I have been through. XSkyBaby

Any car can be fixed -even the worst lemon. It just takes the right tech to do it. Not saying the folks working on your car aren't up to snuff, but they are not the right tech for this job. Of course, electrical issues are the more difficult to fix and most technicians are not gifted in this arena.

Sorry to hear that this ordeal has resulted in a sour note for you. Saturn should be taking more reasonable steps to satisfy you when it comes to a low volume, halo car like the Sky.

As you know from this forum, MOST people are quite happy with their Skys. Unfortunately, you got a lemon. If you haven't already, go as high as you can in the Saturn/GM chain of command, but do it quickly. Don't allow gaps of time between your calls.

If you've already done the above, DO IT AGAIN !!!!!

If you've exhausted your avenues, then.................

Dump this one, be pissed, throw a few things, and buy a new one.

A Sky run would not be the same without SKYBABY !!!!!

In 1998 we filed the Lemon Law on our Monte Carlo. After 11 months of hassle, we finally traded the car. We lost about $6,000 in the deal, but sometimes peace of mind is worth more than money. We purchased our Toyota 4-runner at that time and it's be a great automobile.

I wont get another Sky.... after losing so much on the first one... and then all the issues with this one.... Brian wont do it again. I just want this nightmare to go away.... I have had another mechanic look at it and they also say... Yes.. there are issues.. but no one can pinpoint them... I was so in love with my car.. .and I have loved meeting everyone... Aubrey - they always start with lowball offers. They are hoping you are so disgusted that you will just jump at it. Continue to deal with them & if they stay stubborn - tell them that you plan to go to a consumer reporter @ a newstation with your problems. Believe me, they will up it because they do not want the bad publicity.

You have modified this car to your personal taste with adding all the pink paint that 99.99% of the people would not want, thats going to cost money to change out. The LOW dollar amount is for a settlement... not to buy or replace the car...... 2,700$ is NOT... a valid amount to help with the **** we have been through with this POS..... That is NOT at all acceptable.. and the parts that I have modified.. can and are easily fixed.... the pink paint is on the removable grill and the engine cover... which I have already ordered to put back stock.. and the other things... the badges... that is also very minimal.. I still have the original antenna so, that is not an issue. the bunnies just peel off... not a problem... the brake calipers are a no brainer also.... and they just dip them and then re-paint them... all very minimal to fix... as for the mileage... according to edmunds and others around... it should only take off no more than 1k for price. I will NEVER go to a FORD dealership.. for anything.... ever.... and.. I am going to have to trade my lemon for another car.. and then someone else will get stuck with my LEMON... that is bulll****.. no one should have to put up with the issues that they arent going to take care of,..... I certainly DIDNT cause the electrical issues and shouldnt have to not use my car because of them. The fact that really burns me... is.. on every damn service paper... it says....YOUR SATISFACTION IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY..... I think not... they dont give a crap about if I have a running car or not.... they just want the money.... total BS.......... I will recommend to all I come across that wants to buy a GM/Saturn.. to NOT DO IT........ I intend to take out a FULL-PAGE ad in the Chicago newspaper and tell about my experience with this. I intend to go to my local media.. and FOX news in Chicago.. already talked to them... and... I plan on taking out a FULL-PAGE ad in a chicago paper telling of my crud on this issue. XSkyBaby

SkyBaby, I'm really sorry that things haven't worked out with Jade. It sucks that they can't find out what is wrong and fix it. But I do have a question - why are you not able to pursue a replacement or refund under the Lemon Law? I know different states have different versions of the Lemon Law, but I believe there is a Federal Lemon Law that would apply as well.

Have you spoken to a Lemon Law attorney? What was their recommendation?

we have a federal lemon lawyer. he is dealing with them now... but that is so crappy that they know there is an issue they cant find.. but it is my tough luck....i just have to deal with it... they get to pay a very small... ****amount and i am still stuck with a lemon... just not right..... under the federal laws you dont get a replacement or refund.. you only get $ for inconvienence.... and that is what GM/Saturn has offered the 2700$ for... under the state lemon law... it is simply 12 months.. or 12k miles.... has nothing to do with extender warranties or anything.... and even though the first time i took Jade in was way under 12k miles... they only gave suggestions as to what to see works and what may not work.. as far as the lights, etc... and once it is over the 12k mark... they are off the hook... i was told by a service guy that .. that is what they are suppose to do..... NOT TO PAY ANY WARRANTY .... REPLACE.... i took it as keep us running around until it is over either the 12 months or 12k miles.... the service departments at my local dealership and another one say there are issues that they cant find.... they KNOW they exist but have no idea.... GM/Saturn regional rep even states she knows there are issues and she is sorry they cant find them.... but, the weather is too bad now and they cant work on it further.. after having the car in there 8+times and over 5 weeks the last time.... this is just not right...... they wont offer kelly or edmunds fair market value... they only offer a settlement for troubles under the federal lemon law... and i am still stuck with a crap car..... i have taken it to more than one mechanic that knows and sees there are problems and no one can pinpoint the issues..... I feel I should have a CAR THAT IS SUPPOSE TO RUN THE WAY I BOUGHT IT...... AND IT DONT.... I cant even use the car for what it is intended for... TO DRIVE....... the only places that will offer kellys.. which there are no amounts as of yet in the kbb.... ..... i have to trade the car on something else and then someone else is going to go through the same stuff.... THE CAR JUST DONT WORK .. RIGHT.... no one should get stuck with a car like that.....

A few years back an ex-neighbor of mine got a lemon Ford - they offered to give him him $1000 for his troubles but he was to keep the vehicle. He told them did not want to keep the rig and that they could go jump in the lake.
Six months later he ended up with a brand new replacement vehicle & $5k for the hassle (that mostly went to pay his lawyer bill).

you know... that is the thing.... the money is.. supposedly suppose to make me forget the CAR DONT WORK???? ugh..... even if they give money... the car still dont operate right.... ugh.... just so confusing.... one good thing with the federal lemon lawyer.... the auto company has to pay his bills separate from any settlement..... just irks me..... why is it so damn hard to make this right???? it is not like I just barely drive this car.. and i hardly like it at all..... ... not that i deserve praise.. but, i do think i have done alot with their product and have loved it and promoted it EVERYWHERE.... i go..... not any more i wont....
