Update on Jade and GM/Saturn
we have heard back and from what I understand... they are offering a VERY LOW dollar amount and I am at the point of disgust with GM/Saturn...... The permagrin has been long gone and I wont be doing this anymore. On top of that... I received another service sheet from the dealership.. and on just about every item it states that they cant find or duplicate issues .. BUT.. RIGHT UNDER THERE.... IS THE WORD.. REPAIR... AND THEY REPAIRED/REPLACED JUST ABOUT ALL... OF THE... NOT BROKEN THINGS... If they cant find the issues or duplicate them.. WHY THE HELLL WOULD THEY REPLACE THEM??????????????????????? I am very dissatisfied with Saturn and wont be buying another one. Not worth all the fuss and crap I have been through. XSkyBaby

Any car can be fixed -even the worst lemon. It just takes the right tech to do it. Not saying the folks working on your car aren't up to snuff, but they are not the right tech for this job. Of course, electrical issues are the more difficult to fix and most technicians are not gifted in this arena.
Sorry to hear that this ordeal has resulted in a sour note for you. Saturn should be taking more reasonable steps to satisfy you when it comes to a low volume, halo car like the Sky.

And buy another one.
As you know from this forum, MOST people are quite happy with their Skys. Unfortunately, you got a lemon. If you haven't already, go as high as you can in the Saturn/GM chain of command, but do it quickly. Don't allow gaps of time between your calls. If you've already done the above, DO IT AGAIN !!!!! If you've exhausted your avenues, then................. Dump this one, be pissed, throw a few things, and buy a new one. A Sky run would not be the same without SKYBABY !!!!!

In 1998 we filed the Lemon Law on our Monte Carlo. After 11 months of hassle, we finally traded the car. We lost about $6,000 in the deal, but sometimes peace of mind is worth more than money. We purchased our Toyota 4-runner at that time and it's be a great automobile.

I wont get another Sky.... after losing so much on the first one... and then all the issues with this one.... Brian wont do it again. I just want this nightmare to go away.... I have had another mechanic look at it and they also say... Yes.. there are issues.. but no one can pinpoint them... I was so in love with my car.. .and I have loved meeting everyone... It is just too stressful for me. .and being sick alot doesnt help at all.... XSkyBaby

Go to a BMW dealer and get yourself a Z4 Roadster. As far as not attending runs and stuff, please don't leave us. Bring the Z4 and run with us, we'll play nice.

Aubrey - they always start with lowball offers. They are hoping you are so disgusted that you will just jump at it. Continue to deal with them & if they stay stubborn - tell them that you plan to go to a consumer reporter @ a newstation with your problems. Believe me, they will up it because they do not want the bad publicity.

I certainly DIDNT cause the electrical issues and shouldnt have to not use my car because of them. The fact that really burns me... is.. on every damn service paper... it says....YOUR SATISFACTION IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY..... I think not... they dont give a crap about if I have a running car or not.... they just want the money.... total BS.......... I will recommend to all I come across that wants to buy a GM/Saturn.. to NOT DO IT........ I intend to take out a FULL-PAGE ad in the Chicago newspaper and tell about my experience with this. SkyBaby, I'm really sorry that things haven't worked out with Jade. It sucks that they can't find out what is wrong and fix it. But I do have a question - why are you not able to pursue a replacement or refund under the Lemon Law? I know different states have different versions of the Lemon Law, but I believe there is a Federal Lemon Law that would apply as well.
Have you spoken to a Lemon Law attorney? What was their recommendation? |

NOT TO PAY ANY WARRANTY .... REPLACE.... i took it as keep us running around until it is over either the 12 months or 12k miles.... the service departments at my local dealership and another one say there are issues that they cant find.... they KNOW they exist but have no idea.... GM/Saturn regional rep even states she knows there are issues and she is sorry they cant find them.... but, the weather is too bad now and they cant work on it further.. after having the car in there 8+times and over 5 weeks the last time.... this is just not right...... A few years back an ex-neighbor of mine got a lemon Ford - they offered to give him him $1000 for his troubles but he was to keep the vehicle. He told them did not want to keep the rig and that they could go jump in the lake.
Six months later he ended up with a brand new replacement vehicle & $5k for the hassle (that mostly went to pay his lawyer bill).
