Agreed with the possibility on the "wrong type" but even the "right type" would not have put it out!

Now ... back to Skybaby's issue!

The more I think about it the more the appeal of an electrical fire. I wonder if the old gum wrapper behind the dash would do the trick?....Skip....

Well since you can't use it for its intended purpose, have you considered other options? I think it might make a lovely planter, or perhaps a stylish coop for your birds. On a grander scale, we could ship it to Florida and add it to the art exhibit in Sarasota. I'm sure with the creative minds at your disposal on the forum, we can come up with something for you to do with it.

Sadly, MB chose to post the fire option publicly, so we can't use that.

I do appreciate your reluctance to simply dump it on someone else. That says a lot for your character, though it's hardly a surprise. If this keeps dragging on though, that could end up being your best option. Good luck!

Well, at some point the settlement cash would be enough to pay the difference on the current vehicle and get you in a new one. Find that point and work toward it.

Ask your dealership what they would pay for the car. Take that price, difference it against fair market value, and call that value "X". Then determine a value for your trouble, call that value "Y".

Ask for X+Y.

If they settle, sell the vehicle to dealer and use X to make up the difference. Walk away with Y to do as you please...perhaps as a down payment on that Z4.

GM buyback

My wife had a 2002 GMC truck. Had lots of problems with the A/C-Heating system it was all hot or cold only. I filed a comiplaint with the BBB and GM contacted us. Our settlement was GM took our truck at the window sticker and we got another new truck at its window sticker. We were VERY NICE with the GM rep and I feel we came out a winner.

Sorry to hear about your problems but a full page ad in the Chigago Tribune or I believe the other paper there is the Sun will cost more than the price you paid for your car. An ad 2 inches by 4 inches is a couple thousand for one day! Stick with the TV station.

gee... what part? wanting my car fixed proper? or wanting to do something about it? I hope no one... or not many have the same issues as I do.. and if you do..... oh.. I bet GM/Saturn will just make it all better in a flash.... This has been going on for months... I am so tired of fighting for something that they should just fix..... I think sometimes that they really dont give a crap about the actual owners..... but of course.... that is my opinion.

Just breathe and have more patience (yes, I know it is hard to do) - but they will come around.
After all - they are banking on you getting exasperated enough to either take their ridiculous lowball offer or to just drop it entirely.
Hang in there, roll your eyes, and smile knowing that you WILL prevail

Ya could get yourself a dartboard & put a GM or Saturn logo in the bullseye and take your frustrations out on it! Bet ya would get really good at throwing darts. I know putting a pic of my ex there during our divorce did wonders for both my dart skills and my personal attitude
