grumblers

most likely because the 1% or so of folks who were not happy with the 2007 Sky accounted for 90% of the feedback received.

You'd think they would have some way to weed out reports from folks who did not give a product a chance. I would much rather hear from the guy who put 50,000 miles on the car than the guy who put 250 miles on in an then got rid of it.

Mountains vs Mole hills - I would imagine that some folks report the manual top as a negative - but is it really? and should it count unless maybe it was the ONLY convertible with a manual top.

Sure there were a lot of little things that needed adjustment - and yes many of them were things that you would expect professional car makers to either not have let slip in the first place or stepped up and fixed in the most expedient manner possible - but if you bought a $30k car because you could not afford an $80k car - you have to give it some amount of room for growing pains.

I am seriously laughing at that right now. Consumer Reports is black and white.... I have never in my life been in the middle with anything car or otherwise with them I have either completely agreed on one of their "Findings" or completely said OH NO NO NO NO.

Their repeated major complaints ... trunk size and the manual top requiring you to get out of the car to complete all the 'steps'.

As far as the other spec's, it was fine. It seems the guy who did the first review, kicking the Kappa trunk & top, set the pace for all stories and ratings. Most power tops take 19 sec or more to rise or lower. I think most of us can do our top in less time.
And the trunk size is what it is ... small. But we all knew that before we put the money down. And by the way, there are many vehicles with small trunks.
If you need SUV space ... buy one instead.

I agree. It's not like someone didn't know what they were getting themselves into when they bought this car.

Oh, and they Love the Miata and S2000 so much that they almost drool over each one....and have extra pictures of them.

Keep in mind that CR's criteria for their ratings are based on a broad range of factors which will devalue niche vehicles, since niche vehicle will score badly in areas outside the niche. Also, on the realiability front, keep in mind we roadster owners are very very picky, and we have low production numbers, and a new model (which tends to have bugs to work out). Hence, the realiability numbers are going to be skewed. Take, for instance, the Solstice, which has a reliability value 234% over norm, making it the worst on reliability.

There was one section on Owner Styling, and the Saturn SKY took top honors...NUMBER ONE...on style.

I know they gave a bad review based on the "Lack of Trunk space". This is probably the reason. Which who cares.....who is buying a two seater convertable for trunk space?

I can drop the top at a stop light and have even dropped it at a stop SIGN with people behind me! I'm pretty quick about it.

Now for clarification I have a used 2007 Sky and my comment to consumer reports is.... (looks for :middlefinger: ) (where is that smilie anyway?)
