About a mile from home this morning my DIC flashed “ICE POSSIBLE” for about a minute and then went back to the normal temp/ODO reading it was showing previously. I paged over to the outside temp and it was about 34 degrees. I don’t ever recall seeing that alert in the past.
Trivia - anyone know what the first mass produced car to have an Ice Alert was and when?
1963 Rover 2000, a car much ahead of its time, one of the best crash ratings ever back then, but overly complicated and designed, we then thought, mostly in aid of keeping the families of Rover mechanics off the street.

I guess I just haven't been paying my DIC enough attention lately......
It's down around zero here these days (Celsius) so I'll have to start looking for this - is it just a transitory message when the key is turned on or does it continue for some time?

Well mine is an '08. The message for me just flashes twice then goes away. I just tend to notice changes on my DIC. I cannot remember, but it might ding as well.

It only came on once and stayed for maybe a minute then went off.
I see the "ice" message all the time in winter in the 2001 Aztek. Never in the Solstice (oops, that's right, the DIC in the Solstice doesn't tell me te temperature either . . . )
