What is this clip called?

Does anyone know the name (if there is one) for the clip that holds the cables behind the driver and passenger seats. The cable lifts up those little flaps open when you put the roof back up. One clip is broken on mine and I need to get another one.

Thanks.

Mike

How about a picture of the part in it's bag:

Part number 15290793

You should be able to pick up a generic one at just about any auto parts store for less that what GM wants for one.

More good news is these are the same clips GM uses in the tailgate latches of the Sierra pickup trucks. You can find them everywhere.

@DaveOC, do you know if ours are different left side to right side? I believe that in the truck there is a left and right with different numbers (and they're different colors, one red and one green).

Oh yeah. I'll keep a few on tap. It looks like a part that can be easily broken.

That is good news. I was a little leary purchasing an car from a debunk manufacturer. I hope a lot of it's parts are from the regular GM parts bin.

I'm about 90% sure that both of ours are the same part number, I'll look after I save this reply.

Later!

EDIT: Same part number both sides.

It does share a lot of parts with other cars and it's good to know some of them:

The outer door handles can break but are shared with the Chevy Cruze.
Rear back up light shared with the Chevy Volt
Front fog lights on Solstice (not Sky) shared with Pontiac Grand Prix (04+)
Rear differential shared with Cadillac CTS (not the CTS-V...MY 2005-7)
Ecotec Engine shared with a bunch of cars (LE5 is the 2.4 NA and LNF is the 2.0 Turbo) but they are not 100% compatible because most cars that use this engine use them in a FWD platform transversely mounted compared to our longitudinally RWD mount. Thus things like throttle bodies, intake manifold and other parts are interchangeable but exhaust manifold, head, and I believe oil cooler are different.

Good to know. Makes life easier to buy a few and know they're good for both sides.

Well, I hit Advanced Auto and O'Ryleys Auto and neither of them had the clip in their system.

Looks like I'll be hitting the local Chevy dealer next week.

They won't have it with/as the GM part number. What they WILL have (probably) are blister packs of "door-lock-rod" clips in different sizes, at least one of which should fit. Go look in the "Help" isle.

Ok. Thanks. I also saw that I could order them online. They're just over $2.00 each. But if I can get one locally, that's much faster.

I bought a package from the help section at O'Ryleys. They were metal not plastic. I am hoping they last longer.

Was able to head down to O'Rileys today and picked up a bag of the clips. These were all plastic, though. At least I know where to get them in a pinch now.

It took a little finesse, but I got the clip on there and the little flapper lifts up when putting the top up now.

This is Only slightly off topic but since we are on subject of the top going up and down....OK?

is there a top frame adjustment to the back anchor pins that lock the two back wings of the top down into the chrome guides?
Just a half inch more towards the back would center them into the holes.
Right now they are just rubbing the forward edge of the chrome guide to get them secured....

THANKS!
GJ

UPDATE...the correct name is a BUTTRESS PIN, and no luck in the forums yet....

I don't see an adjustment anywhere:
