Well the Pacific NW road grime has been kicking my butt. The Meguiars Cleaner Wax seems to act like a magnet for it. Although I don't usually like Armor All for anything but tires I decided to give their Extreme Shield a go to see if I could just use a quick hosing off to turn my Polar Grey back to Polar White. I gave her a quick (it's 38-39 degrees F so it was pretty quick) wash and pulled into the garage for the waxing.

I've got to say the shine is pretty good from it:


The water pretty much beads and runs off like Rain-X on your windshield. Hopefully it'll get me a good result on the dirt too.

Ann left Skywalker out in the rain all day Saturday (Cookie Day with her sisters).
It usually leaks a little from the window tops at the car wash on blast/rinse.
But on Saturday, the top didn't leak at all so this was a good "test" LOL.

I realized I made a $400 mistake by not replacing the original late 2007 2008MY battery, b/c in addition to the new battery I had to buy I also need a new alternator :-( . I knew the battery was going, but completely forgot that a toasted battery can burn the alternator out.

Just had these new tires installed, Firestone, firehawk wide oval Indy 500.

And finished the front and rear (driver side only) replacement of the suspension coils, I will do the other side very soon.

Can't wait to try it all when winter is over.

Added springs to help the trunk pop up.

I looked everywhere for shorter springs (around 2.5" long) I found many but haven't found any "heavy duty" that will keep their shape when the trunk is closed, they all stretched out so I found these bigger models, I had to drill a hole to hook them up.

I like it better than the way I did it back in 08.

I finally replaced the torsion bars to get mine to work correctly.

To be exact..the car will be 7 years old in April...it has 33,400 miles...I put on about 5K each year...and it never had an idiot light go on. The bumper to bumper warranty is over...I am living on borrowed time...it would cost me about 12-14 hundred for another extended warranty...and although it would be through a GM dealership...they are not offering GM warranties.

Is Extreme Shield a true wax ... like a paste wax or is it a spray or liquid? I've got a white Sky too and I'm thinking I'd like results like that.
