What's in a name?

I work with a guy who is all about name brand and the whole symbol thing. Well today he said that for the price I paid for my RL, that I could have bought a nice used Porshe or spent a little more for a name brand car. I have to laugh at people like this because they just don't get it...Saturn is a name brand!

I was just getting ready to say.. Saturn is a name brand. lol

He sounds like the kind of person who goes to "GoodWill" to buy his Ralph Lauren shirts and Tommy Hilfiger pants.

Tell him if he wants a brand to bend over and I will pull the poker out of the fire!

Freakin Yuppie, neighbor competing, copycat, no original thought, programmed, design clothing wearin', money worshipping, oversized house buying, jerkoffs, just do not get life!!

Now I love Porche's and all other exotics, but to say that they are the only cars worth buying is ignorant!!

I LOVE MY SKY!!

Maybe he thought that the Sky was a 'no-brand' car because he saw one that somebody debadged.

Or perhaps he was spaced out, and thought Saturn was only a planet.

Either way...I love my Sky...and I don't miss the extra overspent money I saved.

I heard a lot of crap when I bought the Sky.

"Yeah, but its JUST a Saturn."
"What's wrong, couldn't afford a Pontiac?"

I just laugh, because they are obviously ignorant of the facts. Sure, there are certain items that I will only buy particular brands of; but that's not to say that companies can't change. Ignorant people are just too slow to allow them to change.

Well, before the Sky came around, Saturns as a "brand" overall did not have a reputation for flashiness, flair or real cutting-edge style...it was more reliability, durability, and real bang-for-buck...now we have the best of both worlds!

Perhaps this guy was not aware of the image change Saturn is making in its attempt to revitalize itself in the marketplace.

Regards,

Bill
