When will I know

I placed my order for my Sky on 11/13 and I have yet to hear from my dealer an estimated time of arrival. I know it will be March/April, but they said they would have it narrowed down for me. How long did it take you guys to hear how long your wait will be? I want to know so I can sell my current car.

I placed my order for my redline with my dealer in Aug. I called them occasionly (once every 2 weeks after Oct). The order was accepted by the factory Nov 14th and they estimated I would have it before the end of the year. Last week was told that it waas pushed back but should see it the 2nd week of Jan.

Look at my signature. Still waiting. I was told a month ago that it would probably be available in March. It really all depends on the dealerships and how many allocations they get. You should probably start by asking how many allocations they get a month and what number are you on the waiting list. This will give you a pretty good idea what is realistic in terms of delivery times.

Don't wait for them to call you. Let them know that you have marked your calendar with an appointment to call them every two weeks, then do that. They will soon learn to have answers for you in anticipation of your call.

By setting it out clearly at the outset you can set their expectations, and they won't get the perception that you are calling "all the time." Every two weeks is quite reasonable.

From my experience, it's hard for the dealers to know when the car will be allocated. In my case, i placed my order in late Aug and went at the end of every month to get an update. My last visit was at the end of October when they said "no status change", so i didnt even have an event code then. 5 weeks go by and i get a call saying they received the invoice and the car will be at the dealer in about a week. Picked it up Dec 9th.

When i went to see the car the night it arrived, the salesman said the manager "knew some people" and that's why that dealer got their allocations so fast. So basically one day they dont know have an event code and a month later the car is being shipped. May very well happen to you.

BTW, dont know your location, but i'd recommend my dealer to ANYONE.
