Why are people such Jerks!!!!!!

I got off work today and was traveling home and decided to turn off the cd and listen to the radio. Noticed that the reception was a little crappy. Thought it might have to do with the weather.............

Nooooooooooo, got home and saw I had no antenna left, some jerk had snapped it off at the base. If I find out who!!

Could have been worse I guess they left the rest of the car alone! but it still makes me really PO'ed!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about the schmuck that crossed your path....
I was asking the same thing today...won't bore you with my lousey experience...but it left me wondering why people are such jerks, also
I guess we can just be glad we don't go there...but sometimes I think being a jerk for ten minutes might even up the score...nahhh

That sucks! I guess it's a bad idea to do what I've done a few times...leave the car with the top down for a few minutes while I go into a store or something.

Anyone else ever do that?

Sorry to hear about this. Yeah, our cars attract attention, and that's not always a good thing.

I will only leave the top down if I will not be gone long and/or I can keep it in view (in a restaurant or something). I've had people walk out of stores, toward their car, see mine, walk to mine, check it out, then leave, but so far no other trouble.

Not anymore. This is what happened last time I did that.

Sorry about the antenna, RamFan! Try looking at this as an opportunity to check out the many stubbies available. Or if you're really in love with the base antenna, I'm sure you have a couple hundred friends that have them lying around unused and unloved!

I have had people leave little caustic notes on my window. And I had some advice from one lady about my disability placard, not to hang it from the mirror because it can be snatched real easy. So I lay it in the window/dash crack where they can not reach it with the windows up...Skip...

that sounds horrible, but as stated above, sounds like the perfect time for a stubby antenna.

Could you share the brand name - PM if it's outside the rules - and who/where you had it installed. I asked a friend if his place (a large comsumer electronics outfit) would install an alarm for me and his response was " My guys have never seen a SKY and I wouldn't let yours be the test install." So, I'm still looking. I'd really like to get a proximity set up as well as the pageing type. Maybe I'll just hire a huge guy to guard the SKY - he'd need his own ride since he prolly won't fit in mine

I once worked with a guy that was cheating on his wife. His wife found out, came to the office, broke off his car antenna, came inside and beat him with it. I guess he was lucky that was all she broke off.

I know what you mean. I had the weather striping on the back window of my van pulled half off by someone in the mall parking lot. You have to wonder why no one reported it happening.

Now on the flip side, my other van had a surprise last fall: I was parked at a different mall and when I got out- someone had removed my back window wiper and replaced it with a new one! They kept the plastic on it so I would notice. I have now spoke with 2 other people who had it happen to them too. Strange, but nice.

Well, I agree, our cars attract tons of attention, and it isn't all good or from favorable people.

I just got my windows all tinted today, and must say it looks quite hot (pics to come in next couple days)....but was upset when realized the extent people would goto trying to see in my car tonight while I sat in a restaraunt w/ my daughter eating.

1 guy walked by it, staring profusely, and then after he walked away, I watched him return to keep tapping my back window...guess he wanted to see if was glass...so I showed him how the horn works too.

Another, a full family, started taking turns pressing their darn faces to my driver window to see inside thru my tint. The horn didn't phase them, but me arriving outside with my crutches ready to be wielded as baseball bats got their attention. I asked them not to touch my car, to which I got a reply of "F You"...

The audacity of some...but I can tell you this...that idiot came close to needing a proctologist to remove my crutches from his brain.

Sorry we all deal with jealous and inconsiderate pricks out there...trying to destroy our rides...

I'm glad stuff like that doesnt happen to me. I'd have to spend a night in jail for assault.

Yeah, there are some real jerktards out there. I was out in NJ working the year the Lakers played the Sixers in the finals. Well, my family and I are big Laker fans and we had a Laker towel in my sisters car. Some idiot came, spit on the car, kicked the door and wrote on the window "F the lakers". Amazing I tell ya.

I wonder if we can rig up some sort of security then when the car is locked there is about 1000000000000000000 volts of electricity running through it if anyone tries to mess with it and then it disabled when you unlock. Sounds like a good idea to me anyways.
