Wind Noise

Is anyone having a problem with wind noise when the roof and windows are up?

There is a lot of wind noise coming from the passagner side window when the top and windows are up.

good luck. I tried having mine fixed 3 times and the dealer apparently gave up and told me it was normal.

There are things that your dealer can do - adjusting seals, leaning/tilting the windows. It is definitely worth a shot.

Mine has "the whisper" at my left ear... I have not found it annoying enough to mention...

please check

When you put the top up make sure the pins are lined up at the bottom of the top frame, the part the slides into the rubber boot at the edge of the door. Kind of hard to explain but if the top is not seated at the bottom then the window will not seal and you will get a wind noise. While Teri aka Skybaby was here in town she put the top up and WAIT the passenger side I need to make sure its seated or pins are in place, Maverick and I both went WOW ours are the same way! Before you latch the top in look at that rubber boot and move the top with you hand and adjust it so once its latched the plastic tab is in place seated. May help to look at the drivers side then walk around to the passenger and make sure its in the exact same place if its off you should see a difference.

Here's one of mine.

This isn't what's causing my wind noise, but I'm pretty sure it's the issue tulsasky mentioned.

I am having this same problem, Passenger side never seems to lock in properly. It has gotton on my nerves quite a bit since the dealer states there is no fix for this. I do not feel it should be our responsibility to ensure a top locks in properly, esp for a car that is not even a year old. Will continue to ask when the ar goes in to see if they have discovered a solution.

I wish I knew the service bulletin for it. There is one.

wind noise on passenger side.

I've got that "Wind" noise as well on the passenger side. Just got back from dealer from fixing the leaking LSD...was told that they could not find a problem and that the wind noise was "Normal".

This is a reply to all. I had this problem until Monday on the driver's side. Inside the top if you push it half way down you'll see the problem is that one of the struts has become disconnected. You cannot re-connect it...I tried. My dealer replaced both sides just to make sure the top was even. The problem was that even though the strut is metal and pushes forward the bottom part of the top into the boot, where there is a small well for it to hook in to, the swivel is made of plastic and the threads have become stripped from the pressure load that is put on the struts everytime you lift or raise the top. I believe the swivel that screws to the end of the struts were replaced with metal ones that won't tear apart during operations. The wind was very high coming through the bottom of the window, you could stick your finger through the edge of the glass into the car. It's now fixed. In fact several top issues were resolved with this one fix. One of which was the rattle sound in the top behind my head is now gone. I hope this helps everyone.

Why are you worried about what it sounds like with the top up?

Shouldn't you be more concerned about what it is like with the top down?

Lostcause, you got it that is a picture for all my words. If that is not lined up and you roll the window up you will damage the window seal, then its a trip to the dealer to replace it.

I have the same problem on both sides of my top. After breakfast I am going to inspect my top per Garysky's suggestion.

Gary,

Can you post a picture or two of what you are talking about. My passenger side does not sit right and this may help.

Thanks
Mike

No picture because it's been fixed. The dealer called it the struts at the bottom of the top where it slides forward into the boot when you snap it to the trunk lid. It's an easy fix for them. Take it to you dealership.
