Which wind restrictor is BEST?

I've been reading all the wonderful information on the forum. Just ordered my new Sky 2008. I have been directed to 2 different wind restrictors.
Jay's model, inexpensive, and the more expensive custom illuminated one.

Is there a difference in quality. Could you reply if you've ordered a wind restrcitor. I'd like to place my order now so I have the restrictor when the car delivered.

Thanks,
Linda

I bought Jay's wind restrictor first, then chucked it and ended up getting a KappaSphere SKYshield for both of my cars.

The KappaSphere SKYshield is SKY-specific in it's lines - Jay's is "universal" but that actually means that the lines fit the Solstice and ride too low on the SKY. The KappaSphere screen is thinner, too, and removable via a really nifty bobbin system.

I didn't want a light-up, and I wanted to be able to remove it. Thus the KappaSphere offering was the perfect choice for me. If you want light-up, go with the Windrestrictor as that is the only one available.

Read my analysis of KappaSphere versus Jay Senoff's here:

Hi Linda, There are several products offered. Do your homework. I have the "original" Windrestrictor (called V1) that goes between the rear trunk and the silver part in back, created by the original business owner Robert. Also, they are the only ones that offer one lite up with any "image" you would like to have lasered in back (also more expensive depending on the complication of the design). They since V1 one came out with a V2, which attaches right behind the seats. I never remove mine, altho it is doable if I wish. All the others are also good, it all depends on what "look" & "function" you want. Like other decisions, this also is a personal one. (what else is new, right) Just stay away from the OEM's, they drill holes into the car and it looks like a fly swatter-- No holes for me and I don't need to swat flies-- Below is a pic of my setup, which I "borrowed" from a Soltice owner which since I found out from him Robert actually was the one who found this pic of the "Dragon"--

Go with Windrestrictor if you want laser etched or illuminated. Great product, great people, etc, etc, etc.

I have a v1, illuminated with white with tail lights, 1st pic, and use a relay to change to red leds with brake lights, 2nd pic, and day time no lights, last pic.

I have no regrets with my Kappashere version II WR. I also didn't want engraving on mind because if I changed my mind and wanted something different I would have to order another one. So I just use etched glass decal, still looks good!

Our windrestrictor is from Windrestrictor. Version II. We are very satisfied and have received many compliments. We wired our to the brakes and it looks great in red, as well as serving as another brake light.

Have the WS2. Very professionally made and looks great. Wired to brake light. The adage, "You get what you pay for" rings true.

secure website..............

I just went to register & order a windscreen. I then noticed that the website asking for my personal information was not secure (encryption). In today's world of stealing personal information, I am not willing to use your website.

I just placed my order with Wind Restrictor they are starting to do the multi color wind restrictor. I ordered one with my beloved Redskins logo in all the colors on the logo below. Should be ready in a couple of weeks. Can't wait!

secure website..............

When they ask for usename and password, the HTTPS is not displayed. Which means when I transmit to their website, my information is available to any hacker. Purchasing may be secure, however registering is not.

I went with KappaSphere, which came with a nice sleeve for storage. I had no desire for an engraving, lights or bling.
