Windscreen and Accessories

Anyone have the factory Windscreen? Does it flip up and down?
I also found an after market one.

Jay Senoff's Custom Windscreens - Saturn Sky

Anyone know about this one?

And then there is the air intake. Looks like a K&N type filter on it. Is this work the $$. Does it make the motor louder?

thanks
Nick

There are a couple of supporting vendors for the forum that make windscreens, WindRestrictor and KappaSphere. Personally I have 2 type 1 windrestrictors, but many others have Kappablades and are very happy with them. Welcome to the forum. From what I understand the Cold Air Intake (CAI) does make it louder, but there is much debate over whether there is significant change in anything else.

I have ordered 2 from him for both of our Sky's. This was b4 WR and he's good as gold. He even replaced one that had a few stress crack's.....no question's asked.

I went with kappawindblade.com for my Redline because I wanted a 1/4" thick screen with a positive, secure mounting system ( two screws into existing holes in the metal body behind the seats). Just requires drilling two 1/8" holes through the black plastic panel behind the seats. The holes and screws don't show when the seats are back.

Be aware that some screens mount behind the seats and some mount where the trunk closes. I wanted a screen that mounts behind the seats so there is no possibility of interference with the trunk seal.

Hi We offer cabin-mount screens that avoid many of the drawbacks of trunck mount versions.

I don't think there are any that "Flip up and down" they all have to be be either installed (easily) and left in place or removed if you want, depends on the version you choose.
Cold Air Intake, here's a link to GMRoadsters and a article that does a pretty good job of explaining the advantages, if any.
