Wiper Blade Refils

Here is a valuable tidbit of information that I learned the hard way...

The proper GM Part Number for a pair of Wiper Blade Refils for your Saturn SKY is:
89001254
There was some confusion at my dealership as to just exactly what the proper part number was for the Saturn SKY as the GM Parts system was ambiguous. My dealer was very cool about it, and they ordered both since they didn't know which ones would fit. And we checked it out to determine the right part.

So if you go in to your dealership to get the refills, get 89001254 as I know that these work (you have to trim them to fit, but that is easily done) as they are now installed on SPIRIT.

Do not let them tell you that 89001100 is the all-weather replacement that fits the SKY, too. They do NOT fit. They are too long and too wide. No idea where that part number came from, but it is NOT a good one. There is also an option to replace the entire blade (different sizes for the driver and passenger side, part numbers 10344209 and 10344210), but that comes to nearly thirty bucks apiece - and you don't need to spend that.

For the record, 89001254 lists for about $15.00 for a pair of refills at the dealership. If you want to buy them from GM Parts Direct you can get them for about eight bucks a pair, but they come in packages of TEN PAIRS! So, unless you want to buy a lifetime supply all at once then it's probably better to go with the $15.00 versus $80.00.

Oh, by the way for the SoCal folks - Saturn of Santa Ana has NINE more pairs in stock in their parts department. Just tell 'em JohnD sent you.

you are replacing them already I have 51000 miles on my original ones and they still wipe clean, I have been waiting to see how long these blades last. I think they may be the best blades I have ever gotten on a car. that info will definitely come in handy when I need them thanks

Supposedly the UV from sunlight also breaks them down, too... And SPIRIT being such a happy car spending so much time in the sun dontchaknow...

Plus, it has been 18 months. SPIRIT is an old-timer!

wiper blades

If your looking for a better blade than oem, I ordered the rain-x latitudes. You need to order a 16 inch blade assembly. You can't pick up at a local store, as they only have 17's. If you order at url below ordering 2, you get a free visibilty package. Thats good to keep in car to clean windows. Blades are exactly like icons by bosch. They conform better to window in my opinion and are all rubbery. Anyway here is link: Rain-X: Outsmart the Elements | Wiper Blades, Windshield Treatments, Weather Bug and Tar repellent products for your car, Weatherbeater, Latitude, weather, glass, vehicle, visibility. Best of luck By the way I don't remember if I put both 16's on my car but rain-x says following: SKY2008-2007All Rain-X Wiper Blades 16-driver side, 22 on passenger side. The 22 inch blade you can get in darn near every auto store. To get freebees you need to order 2. Its under $40.
