WR v.2 [Wind Restrictor Version 2]

has anyone installed the wind restrictor v.2? I just recieved mine today. what are the two blue bottles for? and does anyone have the metall aluminum strip on the front? how do you line up the velcro with the metal strip on the front? you can't see to line up the WR because of the metal plate? I know robert is under the weather and I don't want to bother him. can anyone help?

thanks MM. this is kinda tricky (to me anyway). you can't seee thru the WR to see where to place the velcro because of a small metal strip. the strip is used to hide the velcro while the WR is in place. come to think of it, you wouldn't really need that because the velcro strips will be behind the seats anyway. I'm confused somewhat.

how about this:

attach velcro strips to their mate pieces on the wind restrictor instead of the bulkhead
peel off the paper covering the adhesive
apply entire assembly in the position you desire

you may want to make some reference marks to aid in placement.

got the same advice on the Solstice forum. I appreciate your suggestion. that seems to be the ticket. I can't see doing it any other way. Merry Christmas.

I received mine on the 24th. Like you I got the WR and the blue bottals and the LED strip. Haven't installed the LEd's yet, no instructions.

The way I installed my WR was to first move both seats as far forward as possible and the move the seat backs forward also. With the top down you can now get into the car and straddel the center consol to eye ball where you want your WR. I cleaned the bulkhead service with alcohol first, then removed the paper backing from the velcro and then just pressed the WR into place. Very easy. One thing I noticed, if you try to install the WR to high the velcro be above the bulkhead and can be seen from behind. Hope this helps you.

I have the first version of the 2nd windrestrictor. I talked to Robert and help him do some redesign to the unit to stop the wind vibration..I all so had to do some work on the wiring (if you use the control system) I did finely find and ID the right wires and I'm waiting on the revised WR..if you have any trouble finding the right wires for the LED's PM me and I can help...Note there are TWO wiring harness used on the SKY I have an early one VIN 2259....Seal9
