XM radio ID Number?

I am trying to activate my XM radio. When I called them, they ask for a XM ID. I have tried for several days to get this ID number from my radio. I need to set the XM to zero? I can't do that? What am I doing wrong? It's a 8 number/letter code. T.

Tune the radio to XM channel 0 and you will get the code Make sure the display reads XM and then use the seek buttons to change the channel till it reads 0

SKY07...I think they are telling you to turn the XM radio to Channel 0, not the FM radio. What you posted is an FM band.

Go To: page 187 of your manual. XM Radio ID. Use your Up/Dn buttons on steering wheel until you get down to zero or 0 if you prefer... Do not seek anything, do it "manually".. Oh, make sure you select the XM "band", let me know if it works, I don't have XM option in my Sky..

Just asking the obvious...are you sure that you HAVE XM radio ?

On the '07s it was an option, it's standard on the '08s.

if you have XM you should be able to log on to the onstar website and get it from there.

It will be on the right hand side of the screen.

It's just a module that is in the passenger side of the trunk underneath the liner. It shouldn't be very expensive to have saturn install it if it's not there

I had a 07 Sky that did not have XM The dealer can not install the factory system. You will need to go after market to get XM in your 07 sky

Very easy way to see if you have XM radio. Keep clicking the BAND button on the radio. It will cycle from FM to AM to XM then repeat the cycle. If you don't see XM then you don't have it.

OK, question here, but isn't the little XM antenna on the trunk of a 2007? Should be a little black thing on the clamshell that says XM on it. I could be wrong though as I've seen a few posts that the antenna may be one with the On-Star antenna. I know the Sols had an XM antenna on the trunk though. Just a thought.

Ya the XM and on star use the same antenna.

But if you click the band button it should cycle through AM, FM,XM
If it does not show an XM than you don't have it.

Oh I agree as I have XM on my GP. It should go AM, FM, XM 1 and XM 2. At least mine does. Channel 0 on either of the XM bands brings up the XM ID on the Display. Says: Radio ID and then the ID. No XM then you'd only have AM and FM when surfing through the bands.

Dang...must only say it on the antenna if it's just the XM antenna. Well...I tried.

Leave it to GM/Saturn to refuse to make money!

The module can be purchased online. GMpartsdirect.com appears to have it but they don't give a price. You have to request it.

I found an aftermarket version integrates right into the system for $225. your radio has to have a CAT button though.

It might be better to have one the portable XM radios. they are relatively small. You could plug it into the audio input on the radio or take it wherever you wanted it.

I have thought about getting one of those for the Solstice. Never thought I'd be taking 8 hr road trips in it, so I didn't see a need to order XM. Now I really miss it on the long trips. If they cut me a sweet deal on service for both my Grand Prix and the portable unit, I'd probably get one.

I have the XM receiver in mine. But I wasn't particularly thrilled with the programing so I turned it off. It's all about what you want to listen to and how you want to hear it. (I might have been a little more inclined to keep it if I could move it around).I think I would have been happier with Sirius though.

I have a real problem with paying a monthly fee for radio and then getting advertisements or having to accept a lot of the same crap I get off of FM.

Thats why I listen to Gadget radio! Gadgets music Gadgets way Commercial free anytime Gadget wants it.

Gadget music comes from Gadgets Sky anytime Gadget is in it.

Let the dealer look at it. It might be just that the one dealer didn't want to cooperate. Maybe your dealer has a little more common sense than to throw a customer to the wind.

Did you buy the car new or used? If new, didn't you save the window sticker? It tells ya ALL the options, also, there should be a RPO code in the glove compartment. If you have the XM option, there should be this code on the list, U2K XM Satellite Radio, if there, you have XM, if not no XM..
