No discount for me

(Quote)And why does Saturn offer the GM Employee and GM Supplier prices then? If they can accept those discount programs to sell vehicles, why can't they accept GM Card Earnings for those not eligible for either employee program? (you can't use the GM Card with either employee program; only the Family First Card).

I am a GM employee and I asked for but did not receive GMS. MSRP take it or leave it. No add ons though, so I was happy.

Supplier discounts are supported via dealers - some do not honor them.
Don't know about employee discount
GM Cards are Saturn money and as I said it's there in the price already - no room for discounts...

The turbo kit is from GM Performance Parts, not Saturn. It will undoubtedly work on the Solstice.

The dealer I used accepted the GM family discount ( I think thats what its called) I have a relative who retired from GM so I was able to use his discount to buy my sky. I think I'm one of the few that have a dealer that was open to the idea.

WHAAATTT!!!! Please tell me your kidding! How could she get mixed up?

question - Is GM going to produce a forced induction option for the 2.4?

possible answers - yes or no.

This is just like hearing some rumor from a dealer, I thought these people would have more accurate info considering how high up the chain they are. If they are this misinformed then its no wonder why the dealers/sales people are clueless.

^^^ What he said.

I actually just went out and bought a box of sporks and am holding one to my wrist as I patiently yet anxiously await more detailed information. If the news is not good, I swear I'm gonna end it all by stabbing myself repeatedly in the wrist with a spork!!!!

Great info Rick. Would love to hear about the brand advocacy program. Have been a Saturn owner since 1994, have followed them prior to the first car rolling off the assembly line. PM me about it if you'd like. Would be interested in possibly getting involved with it.

BTW, have an order in for last of 07 but wondering if it would be better to wait for the 08? Dealer is telling me 08 would be a fall delivery but looks like I can still order it the way I want, Midnight Blue, RedLine, manual trans, blk leather, XM, 6 disk, Chromes..

I would imagine Richm would back me up as to our inquiry about this item, both in person with Nicole and via email now.
There were three of us standing with her as she read from her list. I know I asked at least once about the Turbo for the 2.4l. She told me yes. I was not the only one who heard it.
However when looking at the list now posted in her email - sorry no 2.4l turbo. Only available from third parties and she reminds us that it could affect our warranty (that's what we were so happy to have a GMPP one! - even if we didn't )
Sorry folks...

Thanks Rick. Might as well try the supercharger question if you get a chance.

Well, Here is the entire list from her email (In blue)...

Is there anything on here that we don't know about?

Rick -

We do not provide a Turbo kit for the Sky. A turbo kit would have to be gathered from an outside vendor, as mentioned by one of the other external participants from the Saturn Advocacy event. As you may know, adding a non-gm validated/supplied part would void any GM Warranty when applied and we do not recommend adding such parts. I am checking with GM performance division to see if they are creating any parts or guides on ways to increase performance on the vehicles. I will get back with you on what I find. We do have:

Cat-Back Exhaust System (See Retailer for pricing)
A cat-back exhaust system that streamlines air flow and delivers a throaty, aggressive note through the styled tip

Turbo Cat-Back Exhaust System (2.0L Red Line) (See Retailer for pricing)
SKY Red Line Cat Back Exhaust System, which is made of stainless steel tubing with semi-polished mufflers and includes welded-on custom chrome-plated exhaust tips

Air Intake (See Retailer for pricing)
Increasing cold air intake, this accessory improves the SKY's performance by allowing the engine to breathe more easily.

Performance Suspension Kit (See Retailer for pricing)
The performance suspension kit allows the SKY to carve tighter corners with even more precision. Includes front and rear stabilizer bars, bushings and sport-tuned, coil-over Bilstein monotube shocks.

Performance Suspension Kit (2.0L Red Line) (See Retailer for pricing)
The performance suspension kit allows the SKY Red Line to carve tighter corners with even more precision. Includes bushings and sport-tuned, coil-over Bilstein monotube shocks.

Rear Spoiler (See Retailer for pricing)
Give your SKY an even sportier look with the rear spoiler.

We do have expected at the end of this year a Turbo High-Performance Air Intake (2.0L Red Line).

Hope this helps.

I read that as a list of current GMPP Sky products.

Sounds like that's the part we're waiting to hear about. What is in the works for future release.

Rick, I agree with cerberus we should ask if a supercharger is in their development plans. Since the turbo is out it would clear once and for all if it is worth waiting and it would help all waiting to decide on an aftermarket turbo or supercharger.

Great info and as a future Red Line owner, I look forward to the new toys. Will Jill keep you posted on when these are available? How much different is the suspension kit from what comes via factory? Are they going to be posted on their performance parts site like parts for the Ion Red Line and Cobalt are?

I am using the GM Supplier program discount and are paying $1,400 less than MSRP for my new Redline. It does have a nice benefit so I can understand the frustration of not being able to use the card. If you are buying a Saturn you should check with your company to see if they have a program with GM. You would be surprised how many companies do.

Unfortunately that is a dealer by dealer decision. I get a Supplier Discount as well, but my dealer did not honor it for SKY... Still he has no add ons etc and I love the service there so it was no big deal.
