09 Redline Ruby Red/Tan Top Restrictions?

I just ordered an 09 RL, Ruby Red with the tan and black interior and tan top. The dealer said they haven't seen that color combination yet (they have a ruby red with black/black on the lot). Does anyone know if that color combo is available or restricted on the 09 RL? Thanks.

if you ordered it how could it be restricted?

According to the ordering guide, Ruby Red is available with the tan interior and tan top.

As a side note, they have changed the guide so that Ruby Red is now available with the red interior. In the intial version of the guide, the red interior could only be ordered with Ruby Red as part of the "color combination override" and would cost extra (and only with a special order).

The red interior with Chili Pepper Red is still a "override" combination.

Hi, Yes I do know that color does exsits. I have that very combo in on my 08RL. I have no idea why he said that but that color is a nice color and being from Texas I did not want the black leather seats or top. TO HOT!!!

I know for a fact the combo he is talking about is a very common combo though. Maybe thats why he said that because he has that type of combo available to sell or can get his hands on it really fast to make the sale.

But if I were you, and I was at one time, I would oder what I truly wanted. not what he can sell you fast and right now.

Ruby Red wasn't available in the 2008 model year run. Maybe you are thinking of Chili Pepper Red?

The dealer wrote down all my info and options and took my check, but since they did not have any 09 information yet they didn't have any "official" documentation to show me. They said they would put in the order and let me know if there were any problems. They didn't mention anything about the 09 ordering guide and I didn't know to ask. I don't understand how your dealer doesn't have '09 ordering info yet.

The '09s are already arriving at dealerships, they should have been able to start ordering '09s in early June.

As a owner of a 2008 Sky RL SE/LE in Carbon Flash with silver stripeing. The Ruby Red is the 2009 SE/LE color. I saw a photo with this color and it had black stripeing and a black top. The one I saw was black on black leather. see link

The RR SE looks good but i dont know about that black stripe. But hey there's a lot of people that don't like the silver striping on our Carbon Flash SE's. To each their own.

The red in 07 is a totally different color then the ruby red for 09.

The Ruby Red is available with or without the Special Edition extras. So if you don't get the SE version, you probably can do an override.

Yes, as I said before, you CAN order the Ruby Red '09 with a tan top and tan interior. You don't even need to do an override for that combination.

However, you CANNOT get the Ruby Red Special Edition without a black top. It appears that the special edition does not allow any choice of colors/tops, even with an override.

If you want the special edition, you can only get it in the "normal" configurations. If you just want a Sky that happens to be Ruby Red, you can get almost any combo you want (and only a few "unusual" choices would need an override).

LOL I saw a RL that was ordered in Yellow with the red interior. I certainly would never own or drive the thing, not my taste, but you can get them ordered in color combos that are not in the guide, including the McDonalds special I saw. LOL

Yes, by ordering the "custom color override" option, you can get various "non-standard" combinations, such as yellow-red.

However, you CANNOT order the override option on the Ruby Red Special Edition. The Special Edition colors are not selectable (it's only Ruby Red with black interior and black stripe).

You can get a "regular" Ruby Red Sky with tan interior/top if you want, just not the special edition one.
