Lot of discussion on the Sol side about price and amount of HP is to be gained from this tune. Also talk of locking the ecm.

Yea I did see that but the plus side is that it dose not void your warranty. I'll take more horse power that lets me keep my full warranty any day...

If you have the extra ecm and the price is under the gm price I don't see that as a problem.

The quote was "planned" for September. You also need to add a pinch of salt since the source isn't GM.

Now the question is, will this tune even match the gains seen from the BSR stage 1 (let alone the rumored stage 2)? Sucks that BSR stage 2 still isn't out, I've been itching to upgrade and if GM's tune comes out first I may just make the switch to that, be covered under warranty, and be done with it.

September is right around the corner. Let's just hope it comes out before the end of the year. That would be nice!

Actually, if I remember the statement during MeccaII, it was "this summer". So if it comes out by 22 September, it will actually be out "this summer".

Oh, and I think this tune will be good for sales, not just after market upgrades. If I were a dealer, I would tune a new one up (or maybe just offer the tune) and prominently advertise the power.

Saturn SKY BLOWOUT ...WOW!!! 290HP!!!!

This tune is about the same as the BSR maybe a little less WHP or Wheel horse power.

290 HP minus the driveline toll at 15% which I averaged from the crank claims gives you 245-250 range up from 220-225 whp. Unless this tune is claiming WHP which I serioulsy doupt.

The BSR + Hahn IC gives you 286 whp and 307 Torque that put evenly with the GM crank power would be 328 HP and 353 Torque for BSR + IC.

Westers would probably give you the most power at the moment don't have dyno numbers on that tune, but I knows it even more powerful.

Besides BSR's whp advantage, it also gives you two more things: raises the rev limit to 7000 rpm on 1st and 2nd gear, plus gives you a launch control at 4500 rpm.

on the other hand, the gm upgrade will not void your warranty.

so members can just choose what they want!

Though I highly doubt the inclusion of launch control, we don't yet know what the GM tune will or won't have, so I don't think advantages like that are a given. Also, as evidenced by the Redline's stock power output, GM has been overly conservative with the numbers they advertise. 290hp from them could well equal something over 300hp when all is said and done -- and who know what crazy levels the torque will be at now.

They advertised 310 lb-ft.

Keep in mind that the limit might not be the engine but the transmission. We have a strong first gear. As I note previously, if the tune puts out 310 lb-ft, and you can get that delivered in first gear, our SKY will put down more wheel torque in first than a C6 Vette!

And before everyone starts dreaming of blowing away the Vettes, your little advantage will be very short lived...because you gotta go to 2nd at around 30 mph and the Vette will hold first past 60.

Nobody would be more happy about this if it were true, but I won't believe it until my dealer says "Sure, come on down and we'll install it".

Until that happens (or at least until there is an official GM announcement), it's all just "somebody told me that somebody said that it's going to happen sometime".

Hopefully I'm being needlessly cynical...

I have been hoping that the next generation Redline has at least 320hp. Otherwise, I will have to take a serious look at the 370Z roadster.

He has a little ADHD. Remind me never to post my garage here if you find that to be ADHD I'm now scared to even remotely put mine up.
