Back in the day of muscle cars and V-8's, dual exhausts, and hearing the roar of engines reving, that was a beautiful sound. Fast forward too today, with the 2.0 and the turbo, etc.....how can you get that big rev rumble sound? Not really sure of the science behind it, but guessing that since the exhaust dosen't go straight back and out, and with the turbo, that it's just not really possible without some radical alterations. Is there any simple way around this, or should I just be happy with the "nice" sound I have?

Your never going to have a nice rumble like a V8 unless you put a V8 in it but the closest you can come is to put a catless downpipe on and different exhaust.
Think fire cracker vs dynamite.
Baby fart vs Adult fart.
Bass vs Soprano.

It is more the displacement and RPMs that give the deep rumble than just the number of cylinders.
You can get rid of your CAT and increase the volume but it will not give you the same pitch (displacement… bigger cylinder = deeper boom) or rhythm/tempo (RPMs) that a V8 has.
While I too have a fondness for good old fashioned rumble... I am really growing to like the sounds of newer tech. I am very tempted to either get a CAI or gut the stock air box to enhance the sounds even more.
I'm wondering why the inline 4 turbo in the Sky sounds NOTHING like the 1.4L inline 4 in my motorcycle. The sound of the bike is quite superior.
Probably because in a car, you primarily hear the exhaust note transmitted through a relatively long pipe. And in the SKY, muffled through a turbo, a converter, a bend or two, and a muffler. On a motorcycle you not only hear the exhaust, but feels and hear directly transmitted combustion sound and vibration.
A similar experience can be had with some of the rear mounted engines (Porsche and Ferrari). You not only hear the note, you feel the engine roar and vibration behind you.
