Kenwood 6990 hd radio question

Hello guys. Don't know if any of you have installed this radio or not but if you did I have a question for you. My car got broken into a month ago, stole my stereo, a kenwood 6990. The insurance got me the new one, 6990 Hd radio. I love the radio, except one thing. The volume will not go up over 35, that's ok with the top up, but flying down the road with top down, can't even hear it. It has some equalizer controls, I have tweak them and got a little more volume, still only goes to 35. Does any one have an idea how to fix this. Surely it goes higher. My old Kenwood went up to 65. Thanks. Tim

Can't really help you on this, but my Kenwood 6960 only goes up to 35 too. I feel your pain...

I have a Kenwood DNX8120
I never checked to see how high mine goes, but I have no issues hearing it with the top down.
