Newbe Question: Insurance Discounts

My wife just got a RL Carbon Flash, 0/72 financing was great!

The car is super, only issue is with the dealer add-on spoiler...We went to pick it up yesterday and they put a black spoiler on which did not match the car. They are going to fix that (hopefully will not cause other damage when replacing it) and put the stripes across the new spoiler as well.

The question I have is Insurance Discounts. Has this been answered before? I did a search and could not get a hit. The things I am aware of are:

On-Star
Engine immobilizing theft deterrent

The sales person mentioned the Stabilitrak stability control....

Any other items or advise before I call Progressive?

Thanks, John

FYI - This forum is great!

Lets see:

Instead of me typing it all, why don't you go to this site

And cherry pick what you want to tell them, especially the "safety" feature section.. BTW, insurance for most with a clean record has been very generous.. I think I am paying just over $400 per 6 months if I recall..
Hope yawl enjoy your new ride,,,, congratz..

Discount? Doubt it..

My insurance company sent me a lil' nice but almost nasty informative note of how due to the power to weight ratio that they normally "don't" carry such cars - but us being a multicar and already having them as our home insurance supplier and such that they'd cover it... Ended up being just $50 over what I was paying on my old 92 SC – I was quite satisfied

Though as a side line - my wife tells me that was a somewhat nice way of saying "You step out of line and they'll drop me" - the insurance co. that is, not the wife - thanks be to God

Anti-Theft was a discount in my policy -- due to the SMart Key - not OnStar...

My insurance guy remarked that this car would be $600 to insure, but because we had 3 cars and only 2 drivers the other cars were reduced about $300... so I only pay about $300 more....

Hrmm, sounds like you need a new insurance company. This car is plenty quick but not a rocket ship by any means.

I use GEICO and they do give a little discount for starter kill, but of course I'm sure each company is different. I did get a 7 dollar rebate check for this car after switching my RX-8 out to the Redline. Almost bought me 2 gallons of fuel with that goldmine!

I just got done with Progressive. With all the discounts it ended up to be $345 more per 6 months. That is not too bad...

Through Travelers Ins, ours ended up being $72 more per 6 mos compared to our '95 C4 Vette or ~$260/6mo. We have 2 other vehicles and home owners through them too. Not going to gripe about that at all!
