Question [auto rl doesn't feel fast unless floored]

I have a RL Auto and some times I feel like it takes me flooring the gas pedal to feel like I am going fast! Is this Turbo lag? Or is it the just the fact that I don't perceive the fact that I am going fast? Just seems to take tons of effort to feel like i am flying!

Depends on what your expectations are, really. Best indicator is to watch the boost gauge. You don't see any significant boost until the tach hits 2k rpm and above. Turbo lag isn't very noticeable in this car. If you ever drove a car that had real turbo lag, you'd notice that power was more like a light switch...pretty much off or on with not a lot of in between.

bro, it's definitely not turbo lag.

gerry is right, if you have a bigger turbo.....then you'll feel that moment of lag...then the spike of power

Time to start modding! At 20k miles you are just used to the power that it has.

If you want to feel a kick in the pants, activate Comp mode, shut off the ac and then punch it.

From a stop, unless you brake/rev, you will have lag from the point of acceleration until the turbo spools. It will actually will take about a second from a complete stop at idle RPM. Also, I don't think a quick full stomp is necessary and may be counter-productive...aside from the fact we have electronic throttle. I've found a smooth depression to 3/4 and then on to full seems to work best. When it kicks...it kicks. I routinely chirp the wheels on launch, and I have ESC and TC full on.

If you are already cruising, the lag should be almost imperceptible.

If your boost is low check your IC pipes for loose fittings. You may have a leak!

Exactly. In big turbo vehicles it is incredibly noticeable like going onto the Space Shuttle basically. (Being stuck to the seat by G forces is not a bad thing mind you)
