It is a fair review of the redline. But I don't understand that EVERY review has a beef about the top. It truly isn't more than 20 seconds or so to do it. I have never said god I can't stand loosing this 20-30 seconds dealing with this top....I have a manual and I agree a manumatic would add lots of fun with an auto when not stuck in traffic. I do prefer a clutch, feels more connected to the car and more fun.... The review was good.

I am not the author of the review, but I did have issues with stowing the soft top. Getting the stowage compartment top to close and latch properly required a lot more force than should be necessary. Otherwise, the cover did not align properly.

you can't put soft plastics in a convertible and expect them to hold up to damaging UV rays! and the top taking several minutes to take down is blasphemous..... i don't mind the 30 seconds it does take to put it down. this is one of the simplest manual top designs one latch and two butresses that is it.
.......nowadays some people forget that a car is actually a responsibility...... and i am saying that at an age of 24 years old.

Well at least the reviewer gave us an "A-." Anything in the "A" range is "above average" so that works for me.

I also got a kick out of this sentence, "About the only downside to this engine is the less than symphonic tune emanating from under the hood. At idle, the sound is more percolator than purr, and full throttle produces a racket that falls somewhere between a vacuum and a blender."

It is true though the car does not sound like a normal 4 banger it needs some work in the exhaust and idle note department.

Those who consider the manual convertible top a negative have never experienced the true joy involved in rolling back a sexy brunette's lovely hair.

Maybe they're more accustomed to companions that come with a "no touch" policy.

It's all about perspective. When my Redline arrives in 2 months, I'll be ditching a Jeep Wrangler soft top for it. Now, THAT'S a manual top.

I have had the car only a week now but I agree with most of the review. It does have an absurdly small amount of cargo space. I had an S2000 and the trunk w/ the lid down was still enormous by comparison- though this car is superior to the S2K in most other ways IMHO. Even its fuel economy is fantastic for a GM product and that was a big driver of why I bought this vehicle which leads to my main gripe with this review;

"No sane person would buy this as a daily driver" I guess I'm insane! What makes it a bad daily driver? I had an S2000 and a Corvette as daily drivers and I have heard people whine about those too. Hell, even the RX8 in some ways was a worse daily driver because of how tight the suspension was. The 'Vette and the 8 both had *excellent* suspension but it was teeth rattling on the crappy Washington DC roads, the Sky is considerably more forgiving on bumps. And if you are dropping the kids off at school and packing all their backpacks in etc. Yes this is NOT the daily driver for you. But if you are a single commuter or even putting the girlfriend or wife in, who cares? I do not understand why this reviewer said this car cannot be a daily driver. It is no better or worse in traffic than any other vehicle and you can still take it out Sunday and go full tilt with it on some nice windy road or on the track.

Just my .02

Yep, I guess I'm insane too.

He said, "this is not the car for a boring commute"...well my commute's not boring anymore!

The redline is the wife's convertible and the wrangler is mine. Fortunately, she spends 5-6 weeks camping with our girls and her folks in the Summer, so then it's all mine...

I guess I'm joining you in the asylum--I think the Sky makes a great daily driver!
