Save yourself some time/trouble, pop the lower ball joints from the get go.

I wonder how this turned out. Coil-overs are really the only way to go. I'll say it again you get what you pay for hands down.

I am going to get the B and G coilovers. I hope hotchkiss comes out with some swaybars soon.

I disagree. There are other options. Winning the top 3 places in the SCCA over cars that on paper are supposed to be superior to a Solstice is more than enough proof of that.

As for the you get what you pay for, well, I only paid $200 for an upgrade that normally costs $1000 at GM Parts Direct and $1280 from a dealer.
If it satisfies what I am looking for, then I just saved myself $1000 compared to the Coilovers. If it doesn't, I can easily sell it for exactly what I paid, but more than not, I can sell it at a profit.
It was truly a no lose situation and since I can do the mechanical work myself, I won't even have to pay for labor.
It's not gambling if you can't lose and in this instance, I can't.

Furthermore, In building my jeep, I learned that overkill and the most expensive solution isn't always the right solution.
It's the solution that solves the problem, is suited to your driving style and needs. That's not always the most expensive item.

Aside from the rebound, I really like the way a stock Sky handles. So if this eliminates the 2-3 bounce cycles the stock sky gets on occasion, I'm going to be really happy.
If it doesn't, I go to plan B.

I am attending an AutoCross on Sunday, so the GMPP suspension will be thoroughly tested.

Elff,
Yep, I got in on that deal too. I'm trying to see if I want to add another 200 and install the eibach pro springs or not, before I install them. I'll be waiting for your evaluation on these. Congratulations on a GREAT deal!!! I'm glad I was able to get them also!!!

For the Front's, the Upper Ball Joint, for me, was the way to go.
I popped that, took off the swaybar link and made quick work of the swap.

I have to say, this is what should be on the car from the factory.
It still rides really nice, but it eliminates the bounce cycle. I put it to the test on all sorts of PA roads this weekend and I now have a level of confidence that I previously didn't. It's pretty damn good but it's not killing me. Now that I have driven it for a bit, I think Cerebrus did a very close job of describing it.

So for $200 I made out like a bandit and will be sticking with the GMPP. Skipmcall, you are going to love it.

I give it

Ya made out like a bandit on the suspension, so why not jump out and grab the DDM brace? Then you'll swear that's how it shoulda come from the factory! Yes, it does get better.

That's great! But... you know what? While I was waiting on the gmpp's to arrive, I got to thinking... (can you see the cash register ringing?). I went on and got the eibach pro-kit springs (for $200), and think that I will add them to the gmpp shocks so that my ride height will come back down to the stock level with the staggered 22" wheels that I have on. Hopefully this will not be overkill. I don't think it will be though. I'm thinking it should be a good thing... We'll see.

While waiting for my Hahn Stage III ecm to get back from the fine Vector folks, I too installed the GMPP 4 shock suspension system from the Bay! However I ended up winning mine for $250.00. I will get the ecm tomorrow and will soon put all to the test. Next on the mod list a SPEC 2+ or 3 clutch. Does the suspension need different roll bars??
The suspension was a cake walk to install! On the front I removed and swung out of the way the steering linkage, I disconnected at the brake, and moved upward the upper A arm. This gave me the clearance needed to remove the coil/over. Puggs
