Tragic Golfing Accident

That's right, golfing. I have been out of my sky for the past week, and will be for the next month or more.

I was out at a friendly golf outing last Saturday, where I managed to break my leg in three places. Well, I say "I managed", but it was really more of a mutual effort between a friend and I. I was half way into the kart (left leg only) when he took off. This resulted in my lower right leg being twisted around like a Twizzler. I am going in tomorrow to have a plate put in, and I'm not sure when I will be able to drive my car again. To add insult to injury, I can't even get out there to wash it!

Moral of the story: don't go golfing.

I feel like a need a cooler story, any suggestions? I was thinking something along the lines of doing a back flip on my YZ or wresting a bear or something like that.

You saw an "America's Most Wanted" criminal at the golf course, called him on it, and he ran you over with his cart.

Sounds pretty to me.

I wish you luck with driving your car again and a proper recovery!

What exactly did he do stupid? He was getting in the golf cart and his friend took off while his right leg was still outside of it causing it to break in multiple places.

Yeahs, sounds incredibly stupid.

BTW: Go download "firefox" and spend five more minutes typing your posts. You'll see the little red lines under about 50% of your words. That means you didn't spell them right.

I have a feeling this is a person well versed in the ways of "stupidy."

Sorry to hear about your injury, kudelt07. That really sucks. Best wishes for a complete recovery.

Here's my suggestion:

It was a glorious day, and I decided to go out and play a round of golf with my buddies. The wife/girlfriend saw me putting a few beers in my bag and reminded me that I was supposed to take her antiquing. Being the king of my castle I told her to go scratch, picked up my clubs, and went on down to the course. The doctors say I should be able to walk almost normally in just a few months.

Feel better!

After that little preview? I'd drag my limp carcass along the highway before I tried to get into a moving vehicle with that guy again!

I think your friend made a big mistake, perhaps it is time to find a new golfing buddy

Sheesh, you think we want to know about your damn leg? What I want to know is did you par the hole, and did you finish the round?

And don't attribute this to some accident. How much was riding on the hole (or round) and who was ahead?

My worst golf experience was lining up for a chip shot to the green when I heard a sound that sounded just like a golf ball hitting a tree. No kidding....sounded just like a tree thwack. The first thought that popped in my mind was "Geez, there are no trees around here". The next thought was "Wow, how did I wind up on the ground". And the third thought was "My shin hurts like hell". Yep, a line drive low floater slice from the an adjacent fairway hit me dead center hit on my shin. Surprisingly, nothing broken....just a whopping big bruise...took about three months to heal proper.

Hope everything turns out OK.

Luckily someone was at the course, and caught it on video.... below

Actually, Kudel.... you're initial post shows you are being a good-hearted person about this, and I think some have followed along with that...
But the leg bones are some of the strongest bones in the body, and to break in 3 places... is pretty serious shiznit... and had to be excrutiatingly painful. Not to mention potential ongoing problems.

I cringe as I think about it.

So keep the spirits up... good to have a laugh about it.!!!! And get back in that sky soon!

He was probably trying to get me off his team... it would have been a pretty good way to drop his score if his girlfriend didn't make him go to the ER with me. I didn't finish the round, but some older guy there suggested that I "Rub some dirt on it and get your ass back out there."

It was more than a little painful, but the doc says I should be able to put weight on it in about a month (hopefully that means drive) and I should be completely healed in a little more than two months.

Thanks for all the support!

Having just double-eagled the 585 yard 17th, this put me up 4 strokes on my opponent. Knowing he'd never be able to cover the $25k he would owe me, my opponent became incensed and tried to make me forfeit the round by running me down with the cart. Only my cat-like reflexes and agility prevented my demise, but, unfortunately upon landing I encountered an unseen go
