Actually, I just installed a Dejon CAI on my R L last night. It was very easy to install and so far, seems to work well. I didn't lose any boost pressure and haven't seen any codes indicating a problem. The CAI intake noise is notably louder than the stock air box but still relatively quiet. The blow off between shifts while boost is being generated (I have a manual) is very odd sounding and quite loud. Naturally, if boost pressure is at 0, shifting (or rapidly releasing the gas / throttle) won't produce this loud blow off noise.

The pipe on the left is the CAI.

I selected Dejon because I have read nothing but good reviews on the Solstice Forum (DEJON-Dave is a supporting vendor over there) regarding his products. Also, I have a Black Onyx Red Line and I liked the way the red Kappasphere reBAR looked against the cars black paint so I thought I would try and do all the accents in red. Next up is a new Intercooler, Dejon red Intercooler piping and a Westers tune.

Sweet. The Swoosh is normal when you get rid of the stock airbox....usually. That is the sound I love. A big V-8 rumble and a boosted 4 cylinder......yaaaaaah. Glad to hear no check engine lights....keep me posted. Hey what did you pay and do you have a link for the vendor? Thanks!

I have the Fujita on my RL.
Other than the brand, I could have just copied TravisJames post.

Sweet I am liking the looks of that vendor. The velocity stack is what I was looking for. In the WRX if you didn't have one you ran the chance of blowing a CEL. With the velocity stack it should be smooth sailing. Thanks again for the link! Later!

Just ordered the Fujita dual intake CAI from Ptuning last Saturday. I requested a PDF of the installation instructions so that I could look at the job before the part arrived. Three requests in six days and no response yet from them. They processed the order on Monday and shipped on Tuesday but no email PDF response. Is this normal?

Hope this post makes it through moderation because it is a valid criticism of the service provided by advertising after-market suppliers.

I got the Fujita CAI from KappaSphere, combined with their Polished Intercooler Pipe offering. I added a red hump hose and red hoses on the intercooler on my own to give it a little bit of colored pop under the hood. Been running the Fujita for over a year and no codes ever. Just a nice, satisfying sound...

I installed the Dejon cai solid pipe this afternoon. It was pretty simple. I loosened up the IC pipes so I could shift them over enough to get at the two hold down bolts for the stock air cleaner box. One bolt in the front and the stock system was out.

I have noticed a huge difference in mid range with the IC pipes and the CAI. I like it a lot. I was anticipating a lot of intake noise but I dont get any at all. The only different noise is if you are on boost and reduce throttle to shift, you hear the pressure release. Im sure after I have a few hours with the car I will not even notice it. I actually hear the trubo whine less now then before the CAI went on. Interesting. Or maybe its the nice sound coming out the rear end of the Magnaflow . . .

Next is the replacement intercooler

Good stuff guys thanks. By the way Rob that intake and IC piping looks great. Might have to go with the chrome look. Later!

I think they're selling HP Tuners. Lots of people on the forum have used this but I have not. I'm holding out for a Westers Tune. You can get a substantial discount on Westers through NASSOA.org (after you pay NASSOA's $25 registration fee). As far as I know, HP Tuners and Westers both offer the most flexibility when it comes to after market performance upgrades. I've heard some instances where BSR Tunes will not work with CAI's, etc.

Ya it looks like they wont work on 08's just yet. I am sure by the time I am ready.....after the intake and exhaust......they will have it ready. I need somthing you can flash back to stock. I am not a fan of re-flashing you ECU. What kind of HP numbers are there maps putting out? Should be pretty good if you have a bigger exhaust and intake. Later!

I think the 08 ECU's should be available for purchase by the time Wester completes the 08 Red Line tune. I want to say the price for a new 07 ECU is between $200 - $300 on gmpartsdirect (could be wrong about that). If this is the case, my plan is to purchase a new one to send to Wester, that way I'll always have my stock ECU to fall back on should problems arise. If I'm correct about pricing, purchasing a new ECU and a Westers Tune is still cheaper (or comparable in price) to a BSR or HP Tune.

Westers Tune

If you want to see what the people on the Solstice Forum are saying about the Westers Tune, check out the following thread: Westers GXP tune Results - Pontiac Solstice Forum
