Anyone have the RKSport ramair airbox??
I found this on the Solstice forum. Does anyone have the RKSport ramair airbox on their Sky/RL?
http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/s...ghlight=airbox I find it as the perfect alternative to the tube/cone filter CAI, and looks stock since you're using the stock top part of the airbox. For anyone that does have this, does it throw codes like the other cai's? |

I not sure i would use that over a CAI even tho the CAI is still sucking in engine heated air. I want to see someone come up with a nice design for the CAI that blocks the engine heated air.
Also kinda sucks the car has been out since what 2006 ? which was prob acutally in 2005 and yet there is only 1 Distributor for ground effects and hoods least that i can find. Kinda sad ![]()

I've monitored the intake air temps with a stock airbox and a dejon intake and the temps are roughly 5-20 degrees above ambient. A couple degree hotter air is not going to make a difference on redline/gxp's because the intercooler is cooling it down. Money is better spent on a bigger intercooler then a cold air intake on a turbocharged car.

And from what I've heard some people have gotten the hood and it needed a lot of work to get the waves out and then the fit wasn't great. I'd recommend doing some research on here to get more information before purchasing the hood. Just a thought. Last edited by BSRL : 06-04-2008 at 03:54 PM. |

I've had the Fujita dual filter CAI for a few months now, and used a hole saw on the lower front grill pieces next to the driving lights to route some outside air directly to the Fujita filters via aluminum flex hose. Also drilled a hole in almost every honeycomb on the grills, and haven't thrown a code yet. Maybe I've just been lucky...

CAI throwing codes? had mine for close to ayear now not one code. If you have a Cai thats triggering errors then it's not installed properly. I have only heard of maybe one or two people having problems like that and it usually turns out that the tubing is not sealed properly. you can't have any leaks between the air sensor and the throttle body or it will pull unmeasured air in and cause the car to run lean. It's not like lauching an Apollo mission. People around here listen to too many damn rumors ![]()
