auto tranny faster than manual on 2.4?

I know on the RL it is faster, but it is the same transmissions correct? what does the 2.4 manual run 0-60 and 1/4 mile?
just wondering and was not sure what to search for

I doubt it is faster on the base. The biggest reason the auto is faster is it's ability to maintain boost through shifts, manuals have to rebuild the boost and lose some power down low for it.

I have a very early SKY (#785), and the numbers I saw at that time were 7.1 0-60 and 15.7 1/4. That's for the 2.4 rated at 177 HP. I've seen a slightly lower HP rating on the newer roadsters (172). Mine's a 5 speed, and I thought the auto 2.4s were supposedly slightly quicker as they are with the Redline.

The 2008 hp rating is lower than the 2007 because of a change in the way power is measured. In "real" terms, there was no change to the engine's power.

In 2006-7 GM published faster (by about 0.2 seconds) 0-60 times for the automatic over the manual. There was a statement reportedly made by a GM engineer that the manual was actually capable of faster times, but was published as slower because they wanted to use numbers that were repeatable by road testers. For the average driver an automatic will nearly always be faster than a manual because of more consistent and better timed shifts. Even with a NA engine.
