I was curious how many people have put their own on versus the dealer doing it

Do these grills allow air to pass through them or do they have a back the prevents the air form going through?

Dont know which vendor model, but I was told that at certain speeds those things actually whistle. Is that true?

doesnt it hinder airflow a bit??

just looking at them, it appears that its close to 50% volume coverage, maybe 40% meaning you only get maybe 60% of airflow....

I think the current grill is about 10-15% coverage so airflow is 85+%...

maybe not

There is about a 3/8" space between them and they are flat strips, not as restrictive as it looks in the picture. I will try to get a close up picture.

Got it yesterday and did it myself today. Took about 3 Hrs but, I was very careful. Not a hard job. You need a good drill and a series of bits. Results are great. Would suggest it to anyone.

Duh ! I didnt see the link in the first post.

I ordered the T-Rex grille today, should be in next week. The vendor said it would fit both the Base and the Redline, but Im not too sure of that. Especially since they say it fits the "2006" Sky and higher. I was also told it replaces the existing grilles, so it wont hold all that water after washing like the original grille.

Yeah, ooch again. But more power to anyone who buys it. It is a very nice look. All cars are the same, but its nice to see something just a little bit different.

I love mine. Dealer installed it. Had them take the old one out though, didn't like how it was installed over top of it. Got it at Saturnmotorsports.com.

I like the look of the SMS grill too. How has the cleaning of them went? Here in Ohio, Bugs can get excessive. Is it harder to clean the bugs off compared to the OEM grill?
